Overview

The GiveBest Ceramic Space Heater, model PTC-903, is a compact and portable electric space heater designed for indoor use. It functions as a ceramic space heater, providing warmth through its heating output area and offering fan-only operation for natural wind.

Important Safety Instructions:

The manual emphasizes several critical safety precautions. Users are warned about the risk of electric shock and fire, advising against opening the unit or attempting repairs. It highlights the importance of keeping combustible materials at least 3 feet (0.9m) away from the heater's front, sides, and rear. The heater should always be placed on a firm, level, open surface, avoiding unstable surfaces like bedding or deep carpeting, to prevent tipping. It is crucial to ensure the heater is not in a position where it could be tripped over by children or pets. The rubber feet are designed to hold it firmly in position.

The heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or similar indoor locations where it might fall into a bathtub or other water container. The power cord should not be run under carpeting, rugs, runners, or similar coverings, nor under furniture or appliances, to prevent tripping hazards and overheating. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

A key safety instruction is to always plug the heater directly into a wall outlet/receptacle and never use it with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip). A loose fit between the AC outlet and plug can cause overheating and distortion of the plug, posing a serious fire hazard. If this occurs, a qualified electrician should replace the loose or worn outlet. To disconnect, users must first turn off the product, then grip the plug body and pull it from the wall outlet, never pulling by the cord. Foreign objects should not be inserted into ventilation or exhaust openings to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage. Air intakes and exhausts should not be blocked to prevent fire, especially on soft surfaces like a bed. The heater contains hot, arcing, or sparking parts and should not be used in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are stored.

The manual also notes that if the home has aluminum wiring, a licensed electrician should check the receptacle's connections, as aluminum wire connections can cause a safety issue when using a 1500-watt heater.

Function Description:

The GiveBest PTC-903 operates as a ceramic space heater with multiple modes. It features a Power/Mode Setting Knob that allows users to select from three heating modes: "I" (750W), "II" (1500W), and "FAN" (Natural Wind). The Manual Temperature Control Knob allows users to adjust the desired temperature. The heater is equipped with a recoverable temperature sensor to help maintain the set temperature.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: PTC-903
  • Voltage: AC 120V~
  • Heating Coverage: 200 sq. Ft
  • Weight: 3.49 pounds
  • Dimensions: L(7.2") * W(6.1") * H(9.2")
  • Material: ABS+PA+Metal
  • Power Modes: 750W (Mode I), 1500W (Mode II), FAN (Natural Wind)

Usage Features:

  1. Placement: The heater must be placed on a firm, level, open surface, at least 3 feet (0.9m) away from any wall or combustible material.
  2. Initial Setup: Before plugging in, ensure the Power/Mode Setting Knob is in the "OFF" position.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the heater into a polarized AC 120V~ outlet. The manual stresses the importance of a tight plug fit to prevent overheating and fire hazards.
  4. Temperature Control: Turn the Manual Temperature Control Knob fully clockwise to the "+" position (highest setting) to ensure all three mode settings are activated.
  5. Mode Selection: Use the Power/Mode Setting Knob to select the desired comfort level: "I" (750W), "II" (1500W), or "FAN" (Natural Wind).
  6. Temperature Adjustment: Once a comfortable temperature is reached, slowly turn the Manual Temperature Control Knob counter-clockwise until a "click" sound is heard (approximately half-round of the knob circle). This setting ensures the unit will not cut off due to overheating and will not turn on automatically after cooling down. The knob should be kept in the latter half-round of the knob circle for proper mode setting functionality. Setting it to the front half-round or "-" position will turn the unit off or prevent mode settings from being used.
  7. Shutdown: After heating, turn the Power/Mode Setting Knob to the "FAN" position to cool down the heater, then turn it to "OFF" and unplug the heater.

Safety Features:

  • Overheat Protection: A thermal overload protector is built into the top of the heating panel. If the heater's front or rear ventilation panels are obstructed (e.g., by curtains, drapes, or cotton sheets), or if the internal temperature reaches 70 Celsius (which could cause a fire hazard), the thermal overload protector activates, and the heater automatically shuts off. To reset, unplug the heater, wait about 15 minutes for it to cool down, then plug it back into a 110-120V electrical outlet and follow the operation instructions.
  • Trip-Over Protection: A tip-over switch located at the bottom of the heater automatically shuts off the unit if it is lifted, moved from its position, or knocked over by pets or humans, preventing burning of combustible materials.

Maintenance Features:

  • Daily Maintenance:
    • Before cleaning, turn off the heater, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool down.
    • Wipe the unit carefully with a soft, damp cloth, being cautious near the motor and heating panel.
    • Do not immerse the heater in water.
    • Never use gasoline, benzene, or thinner, as these will damage the heater's surface.
    • After cleaning, ensure the unit is completely dry with a cloth or towel.
  • Storage Maintenance:
    • Store the heater in a cool, dry location with the power cord properly secured.
    • Store the heater in its original carton or a suitable container.

Warranty Information:

The GiveBest Ceramic Space Heater comes with a one-year limited warranty covering repair or replacement of products found to be defective in material or workmanship.
