Usage Features
Assembly:
The manual provides a detailed, step-by-step visual guide for assembling the GLF-1 chassis, starting with the rear differential and progressing through the motor mount, front and rear suspensions, steering assembly, and final body installation. Each step clearly labels the parts required from the various bags (A, B, C, D, E).
Adjustability:
- Rear Ride Height Adjustment: Achieved by switching between A-33 and A-34 components (or A-34 and A-34) to raise or lower the rear ride height.
- Front Ride Height Adjustment: Achieved by switching the B-36 spacers to the top for adjustment, with options for 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0 spacers.
- Steering Rods Length: Keeping the steering rods (P-13) between 13.4mm to 13.6mm is crucial. Shorter lengths can cause toe-out for stable cornering, while longer lengths can lead to toe-in for steering sensitivity.
- Pinion Gear: Switching the pinion gear (A-42 to A-47, 9T to 14T) allows for changing the gear ratio to suit various track layouts.
Recommended Components (Sold Separately):
- Receiver: GL Micro receiver (GX-031).
- Li-Po Battery: Required for operation.
- Motor:
- For beginners: 2500KV motor.
- For competition: 3500KV motor or above.
- Tires:
- Front Tires: GLF001-23 (Soft), GLF001-25 (Medium), GLF001-27 (Hard).
- Rear Tires: V1R10-F1-GL (Soft), V9R10-F1-GL (Hard).
Maintenance Features
Basic Setup Tips (Before First Run):
- Ball Joint and Movement Parts: Ensure all ball joints and moving parts move freely.
- Grease Application: Apply suitable grease to shocks (P-15 and P-21) and the ball differential (P-10). Specific grease recommendations include TEAM KYOSHO #30000 Diff. Gear Grease for the side damper and #15000 Diff. Gear Grease for the center damper.
- Tire Fixing: Tires must be fixed to the rims (P-21) using superglue (e.g., Aron Alpha).
- Down Stop Screw Adjustment: Adjust the down stop screw (P-15) to ensure the front lower arm is horizontal. It's emphasized that NO DOWN STOP IS REQUIRED IN THE FIRST SET UP, as applying it can cause steering sensitivity.
- Central Shocks Alignment: Adjust central shocks to align flat with the chassis front and rear.
- Ride Height Adjustment: Adjust ride height to approximately 3mm on the front (P-20) and rear (P-11) before running.
- Wheel Movement: After tightening wheel nuts, ensure the wheel moves freely. If it binds, loosen the nut slightly.
- Body Shell Installation: After installing the body shell, re-check that all moving parts are free.
Tips for Assembly:
- Motor Plate: The motor plate is delicate due to many holes; press it onto the motor mount carefully.
- Rear Subframe Spacer: Put a 2x4 spacer between B-34 and C-1 for the rear subframe.
- Steering Knuckles Spacers: A total of 4x B-36 spacers are required on top and bottom of the steering knuckles. Incorrect spacer count may affect camber gain.
- Tire Assembly: Apply superglue for front/rear rubber tire assembly.
