3. PREPARATION AND LUBRI CA TION
1) Cleaning the machine
Be for e le av ing the fa ctory, the m ac hi ne pans are coa t ed wi th rust- p reventive grease, w hi ch m ay be
hardened a nd contaminated by du st durin g sto ra ge and s hipm e nt . T hi s gr ease must be rem ove d wi th
gasoline.
2) Examination
Though ev ery m ac hin e is confirmed by s trict in s pe c tion a nd t es t befor e lea v in g th e fact or y, the
machine · parts may be loos e or de form ed aft er lon g distan ce tr ansportation with jolt. A thorough
examination mu st be perform ed aft er cle an ing th e ma chine. T urn th e balanc e wh ee l to sec if th e re is
running obslrt1 c t10n , parts collis ion , un eve n r es istan ce or abno r mal noi se. If th ese ex ist , adjustm e nt niu st be
made accordin gly before nm - in operati on.
3) Oiling (Fig.I , 2, 3, 4)
Pleas e do not op erate the m ac hin e b efo re lubr ic atin g well. Th e points with arrow in th e fig ar e oil
position s.
Caution: Pleas e use white s pindle oil.

4. REPLACE NEEDLES (Fig.5)
1) Tum the balance wheel to lift ne edl e bar l to th e upper e nd of its strok e.
