Do you have a question about the GLOBBER GO-UP ACTIVE and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Globber GO•UP ACTIVE is a versatile 3-in-1 ride-on, walking bike, and scooter designed for children, offering adaptability as they grow and develop. It supports children from 15 to 36 months in ride-on/walking bike mode (up to 20kg) and from 3+ years in scooter mode (up to 50kg). The device is suitable for children with a height range of 68 cm (26.77") to 83 cm (32.68").

Function Description:

The GO•UP ACTIVE transitions between three modes:

  1. Ride-on Mode: In this mode, the child sits on the adjustable seat and uses their feet to push off the ground to move forward. An adult can assist by pushing the device using the parent handlebar (T-bar). The handlebar is inserted into the back hole of the seat support frame and secured with spring-loaded buttons. The parent handlebar can be adjusted to 4 different height positions (see diagram A). The footrest (see diagram 5-6) is installed for the child's feet.
  2. Walking Bike Mode: Similar to the ride-on mode, but without the parent handlebar. The child sits on the adjustable seat and propels themselves with their feet. The handlebar tube is removed from the back of the seat by pressing two spring-loaded balls. The footrest can also be removed by unscrewing a knob, and the hole in the deck is covered with a button (see diagram 8-10). The seat itself is adjustable to 2 different heights (25.4 cm and 28.7 cm from the ground) to adapt to the child's height.
  3. Scooter Mode: For older children, the device transforms into a 3-wheel scooter. The T-bar column is inserted into the integrated tube hole at the front of the scooter deck, between the two front wheels, and secured with spring-loaded balls that "click" into place. The scooter features intuitive lean-to-steer steering (see diagram B), where leaning right turns right and leaning left turns left. For younger children learning to scoot, a steering lock system can be engaged by pressing a button on top of the front deck (see diagram C) and released by pressing a red button underneath (see diagram D), providing better balance and easier learning on flat, straight surfaces. To fold or unfold the scooter, a foot is placed on the deck, a push button on the side is pressed, and the T-bar column is pulled back at a 30-degree angle (see diagram 17-19).

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Max Weight: 20kg (ride-on/walking bike mode), 50kg (scooter mode).
  • Seat Heights: 25.4 cm and 28.7 cm from the ground (2 positions).
  • Parent Handlebar Height: 4 adjustable positions.
  • Steering: Intuitive lean-to-steer (scooter mode), lockable steering system for beginners.
  • Brake: Rear brake for slowing down.
  • Safety Standard: NF-EN-71.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The toy must be assembled by a responsible adult. All parts should be laid out, and instructions read before use. Packaging should be kept until assembly is complete.
  • Safety Equipment: Protective equipment (helmet, shoes, elbow, wrist, and knee protectors) must be worn.
  • Environment: Not to be used in traffic or on public roads. Best used on a flat, clean surface, free of gravel and grease. Avoid bumps and drainage grates. Not suited for use at night or during periods of limited visibility.
  • Supervision: Always use under adult supervision.
  • Capacity: Do not allow more than one child to ride at the same time.
  • Weather: Do not use on wet days or wet ground.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Pre-use Check: Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely locked. Check steering system height, tightened nuts, and perpendicularity of handlebars and front wheel. The minimum T-bar height must be locked at the lowest position. Check all connection elements (brake, quick release, wheel axles) for correct adjustment and damage. Check tire wear.
  • Riding: In ride-on/walking bike mode, ensure the child's feet can touch the ground freely. In scooter mode, the child stands with both hands on the handles and pushes with one foot. Proceed with caution initially.
  • Braking: Press the rear brake gradually to slow down and prevent skidding or loss of stability.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial for safety.
  • Wheel Bearings: Avoid water, oil, or sand to prevent damage.
  • Wheels: Wheels wear down over time, especially the rear wheel due to braking. Check regularly and replace if necessary for safety.
  • Modifications: The original product must not be modified, except for maintenance-related changes specified in the instructions.
  • Nuts and Axles: Check regularly for looseness and tighten as needed. Replace if worn or unable to tighten properly.
  • Cleaning: Clean the scooter with a soft cloth and a little water.
  • Warranty: The manufacturer provides a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. This limited warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, tires, tubes, cables, or damage caused by improper assembly, maintenance, or storage. The warranty is void if the product is used for non-recreational purposes, modified, or rented.
  • Spare Parts: Spare parts can be ordered from the globber.com website.
