Overview

The GOgroove BlueGate Bluetooth audio receiver is a compact and easy-to-use device designed to add wireless Bluetooth audio capability to your existing home stereo, portable speaker system, or even headphones. This accessory allows you to stream audio wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet, or computer to any sound system equipped with an AUX line-in port.

Function Description:

The primary function of the BlueGate is to act as a bridge between your Bluetooth-enabled audio source (like a smartphone) and a non-Bluetooth audio system. It receives audio signals wirelessly via Bluetooth and then outputs them through a standard 3.5mm audio plug, which can be connected to the AUX input of your stereo or headphones. This effectively upgrades your traditional audio equipment, allowing you to enjoy your music without the need for physical cables connecting your playback device to the speakers. The device supports music playback and is designed to deliver powerful, high-quality sound.

Usage Features:

Getting Started - Charging the BlueGate:

Before its first use, or whenever the battery is low, the BlueGate needs to be charged. The package includes a USB charging cable for this purpose. To charge, locate the barrel tip of the USB charging cable and connect it to the charging port on the side of the BlueGate. The larger end of the USB cable should then be connected to a powered USB port, which could be on your computer or a mobile phone charger. While charging, a red LED indicator will illuminate, signifying that the device is receiving power. A full charge typically takes between 2 to 3 hours. Once the BlueGate is fully charged, the red LED indicator will turn off. A fully charged BlueGate provides up to 12 hours of wireless audio delivery, ensuring extended listening sessions.

Pairing the BlueGate with Your Audio Source:

To establish a wireless connection, you need to pair the BlueGate with your smartphone, tablet, or computer. First, ensure the BlueGate is fully charged and turned off; the LED indicator should not be glowing. If it is glowing, press and hold the power button until it flashes red and then turns off. Next, press and hold the power button for approximately 7 seconds. During this time, the LED indicator will begin to flash red and blue rapidly, indicating that the BlueGate is in pairing mode.

On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, navigate to the Bluetooth settings and initiate a "Search" or "Scan" for new Bluetooth devices. The exact steps for this may vary depending on your device, so consulting your device's user manual might be helpful if you encounter difficulties. From the list of available Bluetooth devices, select "GG-BLUEGATE". If prompted for a code or PIN during the pairing process, enter "0000". Once successfully paired, the LED indicator on the BlueGate will flash blue periodically, confirming the connection. At this point, the BlueGate is ready to transmit audio from your paired device.

Connecting the BlueGate to a Sound System (Home or Car Stereo):

After pairing, the BlueGate needs to be physically connected to your sound system. Locate the AUX line-in port on your speaker system. This port is often found on the back of the system, usually labeled "AUX" or "Line-in," though some systems may have it on the front. Insert the 3.5mm plug of the BlueGate into this AUX line-in port. If your sound system requires it, you may need to switch its audio input settings to play from the AUX line-in port. Again, specific system settings can vary, so refer to your system's user manual if needed. Once connected and the input is selected, you can adjust the volume and play audio from your paired smartphone, tablet, or computer. The audio will then be heard through your sound system speakers. Both your audio device and the sound system will have independent volume controls, allowing you to fine-tune the audio output.

Connecting the BlueGate to Headphones or Compact Speaker Systems:

The BlueGate can also be used to make your wired headphones or compact speakers wireless. For this, you will use the included 3.5mm coupler. Connect the BlueGate's 3.5mm plug to one side of the 3.5mm coupler. Then, connect the 3.5mm plug of your headphones or compact speaker to the other side of the coupler. Your headphones or speaker are now ready to receive a Bluetooth audio signal from your paired smartphone, tablet, or computer, transforming them into wireless audio devices.

Maintenance Features:

Troubleshooting Pairing Issues:

If you experience difficulty pairing the BlueGate, first ensure that the device is in PAIRING MODE, indicated by the rapid flashing of red and blue on the LED indicator. Reconfirm that the BlueGate is fully charged. If your device requests a PIN or code, always enter "0000".

Addressing Short Cable Length:

Should the BlueGate's integrated 3.5mm plug be too short for your setup, you can use the included 3.5mm audio coupler. Attach the coupler to the BlueGate, and then connect a separate 3.5mm extension cable (not included) between your sound system and the coupler. This provides additional reach without compromising the audio connection.

Resolving Charging Indicator Issues:

If the LED indicator does not glow when the BlueGate is connected for charging, verify that the BlueGate is properly connected to a powered USB port. Remember that the LED indicator will turn off once the device is fully charged, so a lack of light might simply mean it's already at full capacity.

Troubleshooting No Audio Output:

If no audio is coming from your sound system despite following all steps, check the volume levels on both your Bluetooth audio device (smartphone, tablet, computer) and your sound system. Audio levels are controlled independently by each device. Also, confirm that your sound system's input settings are correctly set to "AUX" or "Line-in". Finally, verify your audio device's output settings to ensure it is actively providing Bluetooth audio.

General Cautions and Care:

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your BlueGate, always use the product as described in the manual. Keep the device out of reach of children. Avoid exposing the unit to dust, water, or extreme temperatures, as these can damage the internal components. Do not attempt to disassemble the product, as this could void any warranties and potentially damage the device.
