  • Mode Switch: A physical switch on the back of the keyboard allows users to select between PC and Mac modes, optimizing key functions for the chosen operating system.

Usage Features

The Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboard offers several features designed to enhance its usability:

  • Plug-and-Play USB: For the GTP-0044 USB model, setup is straightforward. Users simply plug the USB connector into an available port on their computer. The system (Windows or Mac OS) automatically recognizes the keyboard and installs necessary drivers, allowing immediate use.
  • Operating System Mode Selection: A physical switch on the back of the keyboard allows users to easily toggle between PC and Mac modes. This ensures that the keyboard's layout and special function keys are correctly mapped for the chosen operating system, providing a seamless user experience. By default, keyboards are set to PC mode.
  • Bluetooth Wireless Connectivity: The GTP-0044W Bluetooth model provides wireless freedom. Users can connect the keyboard to a variety of Bluetooth-enabled devices, eliminating cable clutter. The pairing process is guided by a blinking blue light, indicating pairing mode.
  • Multi-Device Compatibility (Bluetooth): The Bluetooth keyboard can be paired with different types of devices, including:
    • PC: Involves scanning for Bluetooth devices, receiving a pairing code, entering it on the keyboard, and pressing Enter.
    • Mac/iPad/iPhone: Similar to PC pairing, but users are presented with a Passkey to enter on the keyboard.
    • Android 3.0 or Older: Requires the user to enter a self-selected 4-digit PIN code on the Android device, then re-enter the same PIN on the Goldtouch Keyboard.
    • Android 4 or Higher: Pairs like a PC, simplifying the process.
    • Samsung Galaxy: Pairs like a Mac, requiring a Passkey to be entered on the keyboard.
  • Automatic Driver Installation: For both USB and Bluetooth connections, the system (Windows, Mac OS, or mobile OS) is designed to automatically install the necessary drivers once the device is recognized, minimizing user intervention.
  • Status Indicators: The blue pairing light serves as a clear visual cue during the Bluetooth pairing process, informing the user of the keyboard's current state.

Maintenance Features

While the manual primarily focuses on setup and usage, some aspects touch upon maintenance implicitly:

  • Driver Management: The keyboard relies on system-level drivers that are automatically installed. This reduces the need for manual driver updates or troubleshooting, as the operating system handles the necessary software components. Users are advised to allow sufficient time for the system to recognize the keyboard and install drivers.
  • Re-pairing for Bluetooth: In cases where a Bluetooth device disconnects or if the pairing code for older Android versions is forgotten, the keyboard can be re-paired. This involves repeating the initial pairing steps, ensuring continued functionality. For Android 3.0 or older, it's recommended to write down the pairing code to avoid re-pairing if the device disconnects.
  • Bluetooth Validation: Before attempting Bluetooth pairing, users are advised to validate that their device is Bluetooth capable and that Bluetooth is turned on. This proactive step helps in troubleshooting potential connection issues and ensures the device is ready for wireless communication. Users can refer to their manufacturer's part number or invoice, or consult the GTP-0044W User Manual for the Bluetooth Validation guide if unsure.

In summary, the Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboard is engineered for ease of use and broad compatibility, offering both wired and wireless options to suit diverse computing environments. Its intuitive setup and clear pairing instructions make it an accessible tool for improving typing efficiency across multiple platforms.
