Subwoofer Connection
We recommend the use of high-quality cables and connectors when hooking up your subwoofer
(see your dealer).
INPUT/OUTPUT FACILITIES
Line-Level (RCA) Input – Allows connection from the Sub/LFE Output of an A/V receiver, processor or other
suitable low-passed, low-level source.
High-Level Input/Output – Allows connection from the Left/Right Main Speaker Terminals of your receiver or
amplier.Speaker-LevelOutputsendsahigh-passedsignaltotheLeft/RightMainspeakers.
Wireless Connector – Allows connection of the optional wireless kit (See Wireless Kit Owner’s Manual for setup
and connection instructions).
CONTROL FACILITIES
Your GoldenEar Technology ForceField subwoofer is equipped with operating controls on the back panel to
ensureexcellentexibilityandmaximumperformanceinanyinstallation.Mostofthemarethe“setandforget”
type,althoughyoumayoccasionallyndcertaincontrolsrequireminoradjustments.
Subwoofer Level – This is a volume control, use it to balance the subwoofer output level to best blend with your
other speakers. For suggestions on setting the Subwoofer Controls once your subwoofer has been connected
refer to the section on “Fine Tuning” below.
Crossover Control – Controlsthesubwoofer’supper-frequencycut-off.Thiscontrol(low-passlter)iscontinuously
variablebetween40and150Hz.Thislowpassltercontrolisusedtoobtaintheoptimumtransitionbetween
the subwoofer and your main speakers when the subwoofer is connected using the Speaker-Level Inputs. We
receivemanyquestionsfromsubwooferownersaskinguswheretosettheltercontrolsinavarietyofdifferent
setups.Althoughmanypeoplethinkthatthereisaspecicfrequencyatwhichtosetthecontrolsintheirsystem,
