The GoodHome Davern LED Floodlight is a versatile outdoor lighting solution available in several models: AWL1022-NB, AWL1022-NW, AWL1023-NB, and AWL1023-NW. These models differ primarily in their wattage, with the AWL1022 series being 30W and the AWL1023 series being 50W. All models operate on a 220-240V~, 50/60Hz supply voltage.
Function Description
The Davern LED Floodlight is designed to provide illumination for outdoor spaces, featuring an integrated motion sensor for enhanced security and convenience. When the motion sensor is activated, the light will turn on when movement is detected within its coverage area. The light duration, sensitivity (SENS), and ambient light level (LUX) at which the sensor activates are adjustable, allowing for customization to specific needs and environments. The product can also be set to a mode where the motion sensor is deactivated, and the light remains on continuously, or it can be activated/deactivated via an external wall switch.

Usage Features
- Installation:
- Requires installation by a competent person in accordance with local regulations (IET wiring regulation BS7671).
- Ensure all parts are present before installation.
- Mounting surface must securely support the full weight of the light fitting.
- Screws and wall plugs supplied are suitable for "masonry" only; other fixings must be purchased separately if needed.
- Avoid drilling into pipes or mains cables.
- Cable routing should prevent hazards like dangling loops.
- Must be installed outside arm's reach.
- Avoid corrosive environments.
- Refer to the installation drawing for product orientation.
- Motion Sensor Adjustment:
- Time (Timer): Adjustable duration for which the light stays on after motion detection (e.g., ~10 seconds, ~30 seconds, ~2 minutes).
- SENS (Sensitivity): Adjustable to control the detection distance (e.g., 2m, 5m, 10m). High sensitivity (1) detects movement across the path, while reduced sensitivity (2) is for walking direction.
- LUX (Luminosity): Adjustable to determine the ambient light level at which the sensor activates (e.g., daylight, dusk, night). The light will turn on when the ambient light falls below the set LUX level and motion is detected.
- Adjustments are made using a tool, with the power supply switched off. The adjusting screw must be firmly fixed after adjustment.
- Motion Sensor Activation/Deactivation:
- Deactivate Motion Sensor (and keep light on): Switch the mains switch OFF & ON twice within 3 seconds. The light will remain on, unaffected by TIME, SENS, and LUX settings.
- Activate Motion Sensor: Switch the mains switch OFF & ON with over 5 seconds interval. The motion detection function will then be activated.
- Troubleshooting (Common Issues):
- Light not switching on with movement: Check power switch, ensure proper fixture attachment, verify wiring, re-aim sensor, or eliminate other light sources causing false daylight detection.
- Light coming on during the day: Relocate unit from shaded areas, adjust LUX knob to desired light setting, or re-aim sensor if it's in a relatively dark location.
- Light coming on for no apparent reason: Do not use with a dimmer/timer, decrease SENS setting, change detection zone if wind, cars, or reflective objects are causing false triggers, or relocate if sunlight is falling on the lens. Test by covering the sensor lens; if the light turns off, something in the detection zone is triggering it.
- Poor sensor coverage: Choose a suitable location away from trees, hot ventilator dusts, street lighting, and traffic.
- Lights staying on continuously: Do not use with a dimmer/timer, cover sensor lens to check for false activation (adjust direction/angle if needed), or activate motion sensor if it was deactivated.
- Lights flashing on and off: Relocate unit away from light sources if heat/light from bulbs is causing it, or change position/relocate if reflected light is triggering it.
- Sensor not operating at night: Adjust LUX control slowly during darkness until the lamp illuminates, check for loose wiring, ensure power supply, or re-aim sensor if other light sources are causing false daylight detection.
- Light not switching off after set time: Reduce TIME setting, activate motion sensor if it was deactivated, or change detection zone if continuous movement or temperature changes are triggering it.
- Reduced detection distance in daylight: Reset controls at night if interference from sunlight is the cause.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Cleaning: It is recommended to have a regular schedule of care and maintenance to keep the surface condition well.
- Disconnection for Maintenance: Always disconnect the product from mains at least 10 minutes before any maintenance or adjustment to allow it to cool down.
- Cover Closure: The cover must be closed completely for water ingress protection (IP65 rating).
- End of Life: The light source is non-replaceable; the entire luminaire must be replaced when the LED reaches its end of life.
- Recycling: Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Recycle where facilities exist; check with local authorities or stores for recycling advice.
