This document describes the Kelso DQ1920 Unique Fan Heater, a product designed for supplementary heating in well-insulated spaces or for occasional use. It is manufactured by Kingfisher International Products B.V.
Function Description
The Kelso DQ1920 is a fan heater designed to provide supplementary heat. It features manual controls located on the top of the unit and can also be operated via a remote control. The heater offers different heating modes (Low, High, Off) and a fan-only mode. It incorporates safety features such as a tip-over switch and a thermal cut-out to prevent overheating. The device is not intended to be the main source of heat but rather a complementary one.

Usage Features
The fan heater can be controlled via its top panel or a remote control.
Manual Controls (Top Panel):
- STANDBY button: Starts and stops heating.
- HEATING button: Cycles through "Low" (1350 W), "High" (2400 W), and "Off" heating settings. When heating is stopped, the fan motor runs for about 30 seconds to lower the temperature.
- FAN button: Activates fan-only mode when heating is OFF. If heating is ON, the fan runs continuously. Cycles fan function between "On" and "Off". Temperature cannot be set in FAN mode.
- SENSOR button: Activates the motion sensor. When motion is detected within 30 degrees left/right and 2m distance, the appliance operates as per the preset mode. If no motion is detected for 2 minutes, it switches to standby. Not compatible with TIMER mode.
- TIMER button: Sets a timer for automatic shut-off, increasing by 1 hour with each press, up to a maximum of 7 hours. Not compatible with SENSOR mode.
- SWING button: Starts and stops the oscillation function.
- TEMPERATURE button (+/-): Increases or decreases the temperature. Default is medium. Cycles through "Low", "Medium", and "High" temperature settings. Once the set temperature is reached, heating will cycle on/off to maintain it.
Remote Control:
- Requires 1x3 V CR2025 battery (included).
- The user must remove the insulating paper covering the battery before first use.
- Effective range: within 6 meters, with a control angle of 30 degrees from left and right.
- Allows operation of the unit similar to the control panel, though temperature can only be set via the control panel.
Safety Advice:
- Suitable for children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities under supervision and instruction.
- Children under 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged 3-8 years may only switch on/off if placed in operating position and supervised/instructed; they must not plug in, regulate, clean, or perform maintenance.
- Some parts can become very hot and cause burns; special attention is needed around children and vulnerable people.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person.
- The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
- Do not use near baths, showers, or swimming pools.
- Only suitable for well-insulated spaces or occasional use. Do not use if dropped or visibly damaged.
- Use on a horizontal, stable, heat-resistant surface.
- To reduce fire risk, keep textiles, curtains, and other flammable materials at least 1m from the air outlet.
- To avoid hazards from inadvertent thermal cutout resetting, the appliance must not be supplied via an external switching device (e.g., timer) or connected to a circuit regularly switched on/off by the utility.
- Do not cover the heater to avoid overheating.
- For domestic indoor use only.
- An initial odor may be present during the first few minutes of use; this is normal and will quickly disappear.
- Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the appliance; it contains no user-serviceable parts.
- Due to high rated power, using an extension lead is not advised. If necessary, ensure the extension lead's maximum wattage/load is not exceeded.
- Keep children and pets at a safe distance.
- Do not use in small rooms occupied by persons unable to leave on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
- Intended for use at altitudes not exceeding 2000m.
