Overview

The ECOMATIC-S is a differential pressure control device designed for filter cleaning, available in various models (ECOMATIC-S 4/6/12, ECOMATIC-S 20/32, ECOMATIC-S 64/96). It is certified according to the European norm ATEX (94/09/EC) for use in environments with potential explosive atmospheres due to dusts (Zone 22). The device is equipped to provide a normal level of protection in normal conditions and does not form an ignition source during standard functioning. Its anti-explosion method of protection is identified by "tc" (protection method by IP6X rating enclosure), with a maximal external temperature not exceeding 90°C.

Function Description:

The ECOMATIC-S controls filter cleaning based on differential pressure. It offers both manual and automatic cleaning modes. In manual mode, the device drives outputs corresponding to connected valves sequentially, regardless of programming. The outputs are activated one by one, starting from the first, with working time and pause time alternating between activations. In automatic mode, electrovalves are activated if the visualized pressure exceeds the starting cleaning pressure (P8) and are deactivated when the pressure drops to the end cleaning pressure (P9). The cleaning cycle stops when the pressure reaches the end cleaning pressure, provided the ECOMATIC-S is in the pause phase and after the last valve of the cycle.

The device includes a programmable timer for pause time (P1), working time (P2), and value of time or cycles (P3). It also features post-cleaning functions (P4, P6) and allows selection of the unit for pressure measurement (P5) from dPa, mmH2O, mbar, Kpa, or mmHg. Relay outputs (P16, P17, P18) can be configured for minimum or maximum relay activation, with or without hysteresis, and can be time-controlled. A precoating function (P12, P13) is available to ensure optimal filter performance. The device also includes an hour counter (L1) and a cycle counter (L2) for monitoring operational data.

Usage Features:

  • Programming: Parameters are accessed via the 'E' key, and values are adjusted using 'Inc' (↑) or 'Dec' (↓) keys. The menu automatically exits after 10 seconds of inactivity.
  • Pressure Zero Setting: This procedure is crucial for accurate pressure readings. It involves pressing 'E' to enter programming, confirming with 'E' when 'H0' flashes, and waiting 10 seconds for the display to return to the pressure value.
  • Electrovalve Connection: An external bridge must connect the common terminal (C) to the appropriate power supply terminal based on the electrovalve voltage (24VAC, 115VAC, 230VAC, or 24VDC). Failure to do so will prevent electrovalve activation.
  • Pressure Tube Connection: The positive nozzle of the instrument connects to the dirty room, and the negative nozzle connects to the clean room of the filter. Rilsan type 6x4 hose is recommended. Filtered outlets are recommended to limit internal pressure sensor failure.
  • Precoating Function: When enabled (P12 = 1), the precoating threshold (P13) ensures the tool remains stationary until the pressure exceeds this threshold, after which the cyclical cleaning starts. To re-enable precoating, P12 must be set to 1.

Maintenance Features:

  • ATEX Compliance: Regular cleaning of dust layers is essential in places where combustible dust may deposit. The maximum permissible dust layer thickness depends on the declared surface temperature (90°C) and the dust type.
  • Electrical Safety: Before opening the cover, disconnect the electric supply. Wait a few seconds for stored energy in the circuit condenser to dissipate. If the device temperature is high, allow it to cool sufficiently before maintenance.
  • Installation: Ensure no foreign substances are left inside during assembly. Avoid sparks from friction of oxidizable substances. Earth the device through the special electrical junction on the internal connector. Use special fairleads or wall connectors for electrical supply cables to maintain IP66 seal.
  • System Protection: Install anti-lightning protection and protections against currents from nearby sources. Zener barriers on the supply are recommended to minimize potential sparks.
