Overview

The GRAN CAM is a board camera designed for use with the GRANBOARD, offering video capture and connectivity features for an enhanced darting experience.

Function Description

The GRAN CAM captures video of the dartboard, allowing users to view their throws and interact with the GranBoard App. It supports automatic zooming functions during gameplay, such as Hat Trick Chance Zoom, Ton 80 Chance Zoom, and Check Out Zoom, which can focus on specific areas of the board (doubles, triples, or bullseye) based on game events. The camera can be installed in various orientations (horizontally, vertically, or upside down) relative to the dartboard, with video rotation and flipping adjustable in the App settings.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Resolution: 2-megapixel camera.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz.
  • Power Supply: USB Type-C port (cable sold separately).
  • Mounting: Features a 1/4-inch/6.35mm tripod screw hole for versatile installation.
  • Indicators:
    • Power Indicator Light: Displays device status (pairing mode, Wi-Fi not connected, Wi-Fi connection active, firmware update in progress).
    • Action Indicator LED Light: Indicates camera activity (glowing when active, blinking when receiving signals from the App or when the IP address has changed).

Usage Features

Installation and Setup

  1. Physical Installation: The GRAN CAM can be mounted using a tripod or camera arm. It can be positioned vertically (right or left side of the board), horizontally, or upside down (top of the board, facing downwards). The video feed can be rotated or flipped within the App settings to match the installation orientation.
  2. Power On: Connect the USB Type-C cable to power on the device. The GRAN CAM automatically enters pairing mode upon initial power-up. It includes an auto-sleep power-save function, designed to remain plugged in.
  3. App Connection (GranBoard App):
    • Navigate to "ONLINE PLAY" > "Setting" > "Board Camera" tab.
    • Select "Search GRANCAM" while the device is in pairing mode (Red power indicator blinking twice continuously).
    • Enter Wi-Fi information (2.4GHz Wi-Fi is required; 5GHz is not supported).
    • Upon successful connection, the power indicator light turns green. If connection fails, verify the Wi-Fi access point is 2.4GHz.

Camera Settings (via GranBoard App)

  • Brightness / Contrast / Saturation: Adjustable across five levels to optimize image quality.
  • Sensor: Adjustable between "High" and "Low." "High" provides better quality but increases data size, potentially causing delays. "Low" reduces data size to mitigate delays.
  • Zoom: Offers five levels of digital zoom, dependent on the distance from the board.
  • Resolution: Adjustable across five levels. Higher resolution (larger size) improves image quality but increases data size. Adjust to lower resolution if delays occur.
  • Display Image Adjustment:
    • Rotate 90° (clockwise).
    • Flip left/right.
    • Flip upside down.

Zoom Settings (via GranBoard App)

  • Check Out/After Zoom Setting: Allows registration of specific points on the board (Bull, D20, D11, D3, D6) for automatic camera zoom during checkout or after-game analysis. Users tap the corresponding part of the camera image to set these positions.
  • Zoom Priority Setting: In zero-one games, if both double and triple checkouts are available, users can prioritize which one the camera zooms in on (e.g., Triple priority for T8, Double priority for D12).
  • Hat Trick / Ton80 Zoom Setting: When enabled, specific zoom position settings for Hat Trick and Ton80 events become available. These settings are automatically linked to online gameplay.
    • Users tap the Bull position on the board screen to set the zoom point. A "Zoom Test" button allows previewing the zoomed-in image, with options to "Reset" or "Save" the settings.

Command Buttons (via GranBoard App)

  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Re-establishes the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Forced Sleep Mode: Puts the device into a low-power state.
  • Waking-up from Sleep: Resumes normal operation from sleep mode.
  • Restart Power: Reboots the GRAN CAM.
  • Reset: Resets Wi-Fi connection information to default settings.

Maintenance Features

  • Firmware Updates: The GranBoard App displays "Update" button if new firmware is available, ensuring the device stays current with the latest features and improvements.
  • Wi-Fi Setting Information: The App displays the IP address of the paired GRAN CAM. A "Discovery" button is available to search for the device again if the IP address has changed or connection is lost.
  • Reset Button: A physical reset button on the device allows for a hard reset if needed.
  • Auto-Sleep Power Save: The device is designed to be left plugged in, utilizing an auto-sleep function to conserve power when not actively in use.
  • Troubleshooting Indicators: The power and action indicator lights provide visual cues for various states (pairing, Wi-Fi connection, firmware update, camera activity, signal reception), aiding in quick diagnosis of issues.
