Overview

This document describes the Grandview Recessed-Ceiling Motorized Projector Lift, a device designed for discreetly integrating a projector into a ceiling.

Function Description:

The Grandview GPCK-ME is a motorized projector lift designed to recess a projector into the ceiling, providing a clean and unobtrusive installation. It allows the projector to be lowered for use and retracted back into the ceiling when not needed. The lift is suitable for various installation environments, particularly those aiming for a minimalist aesthetic or where the projector needs to be hidden. The device supports both front and inverted projection directions, offering flexibility based on the user's specific setup and ceiling height. It can be controlled via an in-line switch or optional external IR/RF remote control, and also supports RS232/485 control for integration into more advanced control systems.

Important Technical Specifications:

The Grandview GPCK-ME series includes several models with varying retraction heights and suitable projector sizes.

  • Models and Retraction Heights (H3):
    • GPCK-ME500P: 0-500mm
    • GPCK-ME1000P: 0-1000mm
    • GPCK-ME2000P: 0-2000mm
    • GPCK-ME3000P: 0-3000mm
  • Overall Height (H1): This refers to the distance from the decorated ceiling plate to the projector mounting plate. It varies by model:
    • GPCK-ME500P: 135mm
    • GPCK-ME1000P: 190mm
    • GPCK-ME2000P: 300mm
    • GPCK-ME3000P: 410mm
  • Frame Height (H5):
    • GPCK-ME500P: 110mm
    • GPCK-ME1000P: 165mm
    • GPCK-ME2000P: 275mm
    • GPCK-ME3000P: 385mm
  • Maximum Projector Size (H4):
    • GPCK-ME500P: 75mm
    • GPCK-ME1000P: 130mm
    • GPCK-ME2000P: 240mm
    • GPCK-ME3000P: 350mm
  • Maximum Weight Capacity: All models support a maximum projector weight of 25KG. The ceiling used for installation must have a minimum load bearing of 25KG, and the load-bearing capacity must be more than 4 times the total weight of the apparatus and the projector.
  • Suitable Projector Sizes:
    • Upright: W300 x D340 x H4 or W460 x D240 x H4
    • Inverted: W600 x D600 x 240 (for GPCK-ME2000P and GPCK-ME3000P)
    • Upright: W300 x D440 x (H4-60) or W460 x D240 x H4
  • Adjustable H2: The H2 dimension (distance from the decorative ceiling plate to the projector mounting plate) can be adjusted from a minimum of 10mm to a maximum of 200mm. For projectors inverted and with a height over 200mm, M6 screws can be used for higher H2 requirements.
  • Suggested Opening Ceiling Dimension: 600x600mm or 605x605mm.
  • Electrical Parameters:
    • Voltage: AC 110V~120V 60Hz or AC 220V~230V 50Hz
    • Currents: 1.4A/0.74A
    • Power: 170W
    • Motor: 20Nm/17PRM/170W

Usage Features:

  • Recessed Installation: Designed to be hidden within the ceiling, providing a clean aesthetic.
  • Motorized Operation: Allows for smooth lowering and retraction of the projector.
  • Control Options:
    • In-line Switch: Standard control with "Up," "Stop," and "Down" buttons.
    • External IR/RF Remote Control (Optional): Provides wireless control.
    • RS232/485 Control (Optional): For integration with home automation or control systems.
  • Flexible Projector Installation: Supports both front and inverted projection directions. The multiorifice plate is universally applicable for most projectors, and multifunctional arms are provided for projectors with non-corresponding mounting holes.
  • Adjustable Limits: The full drop (down limit) and full retraction (up limit) positions can be adjusted. However, users are strongly advised not to adjust the up limit to avoid damage.
  • Safety Features: Includes thermal protection that stops the motor if it continuously works for more than 4 minutes to prevent overheating. The actuating member of a wall switch fixed control is to be located within direct sight of the driven part but away from moving parts, installed at a minimum height of 1.5m. When fully opened, the moving part must be at least 2.5m above floor level.
  • Wiring Management: Features a wire cover and designated storage for power and signal wires to ensure a tidy and safe installation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Retraction: It is recommended to fully retract the projector lift after use to protect the projector from air and dust, which could adversely affect imaging quality.
  • Overheating Prevention: Avoid continuous operation of the projector lift for more than 4 minutes to prevent overheating. The motor will automatically stop if it overheats and will resume operation once it has cooled down.
  • No Lubrication Required: The motor does not require lubrication.
  • Cleaning: The projector lift should be cleaned with a dilute detergent and a soft cloth. A banister brush can be used to clean gaps.
  • Installation Examination: Regularly examine the installation for imbalance, wear, or damage to cables and springs. Do not use the lift if repair or adjustment is necessary.
  • Limit Adjustment: The drop and retraction limits are factory-adjusted. If adjustments are needed, it is recommended to contact a qualified technician or dealer. Users are advised against adjusting the up limit themselves to prevent damage.
  • Balance Adjustment: If the installation board becomes unbalanced due to differences in woven belt tightness or off-center projector barycenter, the length of the woven belt can be adjusted (within 20mm) to restore balance. This involves unscrewing the adjusted nut and turning the left/right screw to tighten or loosen the belt.
  • Troubleshooting: A troubleshooting guide is provided for common issues like power connection problems or incorrect control switch positioning. For persistent problems, users are advised to contact an authorized dealer or technical support.
  • Warranty: Grandview provides a three-year limited warranty on motorized projector lift products, covering repair or replacement of defective parts due to proper operation. The warranty does not cover misuse, abuse, accidental damage, or improper installation/operation.
