How to fix GreatWhite GW9500 Swimming Pool Vacuum that does not move?
    • D
      diana98Aug 14, 2025
If your GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum isn't moving and the oscillator is slow, try these steps: * Backwash and/or clean the filter, and empty all baskets to achieve an oscillation rate of 400-600 times per minute. * Clear any debris from the oscillator chamber, hose, or vac plate bypass. * Repair any vacuum leaks by ensuring the vac plate is not cracked and is seated properly, checking the hose for cracks, and adjusting the vac plate bypass if it's too loose. * Adjust valves to maximize vacuum to the vacuum port or skimmer, and reduce or shut off other skimmers and the main drain. * If the hose is old, it may kink or develop leaks. Replace it with a Sta-Rite hose.

What to do if GreatWhite GW9500 climbs out of the water?
    • H
      hgatesAug 17, 2025
If your GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum climbs past the water line, causing the pump to lose prime, consider the following: * If the oscillator runs too fast, install a vacuum regulator. * If a vacuum regulator is already installed, replace the black rubber regulator cap with the cap marked #50 from the accessory bag. * Slightly open the main drain valve until the cleaner no longer climbs out of the pool.

Why GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum cleaner coverage not as expected?
    • W
      William WoodsAug 21, 2025
Several factors can affect the coverage of your GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum. A clean filter system helps the cleaner move faster, so ensure you clean all baskets. For vinyl liner pools with a deep end, allow 6-8 hours for cleaning. Also, strong winds may hinder coverage. For spot cleanups, steps, and swimouts, attach a pole. Note that minimal coverage can be expected if you have a solar cover.

To prevent your GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum hose from coiling up, store it uncoiled, flat, and straight when not in use. Additionally, lay the hose out flat and straight in the sunlight for a few hours before using it.

Why GreatWhite GW9500 cleaner flips on its back when pump stops?
    • V
      Victoria ValenzuelaAug 28, 2025
It's normal for the GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum to flip on its back when the pump stops if your filter system develops a surge of back pressure. The cleaner will right itself when the system restarts.

Why GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum hovers in one area?
    • B
      benjaminbennettSep 12, 2025
If your GreatWhite Swimming Pool Vacuum hovers in one area with the hose fully extended, the hose might be too short. Measure the required length from the hose connection point to the pool's furthest point, plus an additional 4 feet. If needed, purchase an 8-foot extension hose (part No. GW9511) from your local dealer.
