VIBRATIONS
Prolonged use of this machine exposes the user to vibrations that can cause “white nger” disease (Raynaud’s
phenomenon). This disease reduces the sense of touch of the hands and the ability to regulate the temperature,
generating an insensitivity in the ngers and a burning sensation. In addition, this disease can cause problems
with nerves and circulation and even necrosis of the hands.
A high level of vibration and long periods of exposure are factors that contribute to white nger disease. In order
to reduce the risk of white nger disease, you need to be aware of these recommendations:
- Always wear gloves.
- Worry about always keeping your hands warm.
- Take frequent breaks.
- Always hold the machine rmly by the handles.
If you detect any of the symptoms of white nger disease, see your doctor immediately.
WORK AREA SAFETY
Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of ammable liquids, gases or dust.
Never start the machine in a closed room or enclosure. Exhaust gases, fuel vapors and oil contain carbon
monoxide and hazardous chemicals. In the event of a concentration of gases caused by insufcient ventilation,
remove from the work area anything that impedes the ow of clean air and do not work in the area again
unless you have properly ventilated the area and it is clear to you that the ventilation is sufcient to prevent this
concentration from recurring.
The area within a 15-metre radius around the machine must be regarded as a danger zone which must not be
entered by anyone while the machine is running (safety zone).
When necessary, use tape and warning signs to mark the safety zone.
Keep children and curious persons away while operating this machine. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Watch your work area for people, children, or animals.
When the work must be performed simultaneously by two or more people, always check the presence and
location of the others in order to maintain a sufcient distance between each person to ensure safety.
Keep the work area clean and work only with sufcient lighting. Cluttered, dark areas can cause accidents.
Do not use this machine in areas where there may be buried wiring or pipes.
