This document is an operator manual for the Greenworks BAG707 battery pack. It provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and disposal of the battery.
Function Description
The Greenworks BAG707 is a 24V lithium-ion battery pack designed to power Greenworks 24 series tools. Beyond its primary function as a power source for tools, it also features USB Type-C ports, allowing it to act as a portable charger for various mobile devices such as phones, tablets, and MP3 players. This dual functionality enhances its versatility, making it useful both in a workshop setting and for on-the-go power needs. The battery includes an LCD display to show its current charge capacity, ensuring users are aware of the remaining power.

Usage Features
- Battery Capacity Indicator (BCI): The battery is equipped with a sensitive BCI button. Pressing this button activates an LCD display (0%-100%) that shows the current battery capacity, allowing users to quickly check the charge level.
- USB Power Port: The BAG707 features two USB Type-C ports (PD-IN/OUT) that can be used to charge external devices or to charge the battery itself using a power cable. To activate the USB function for charging devices, the BCI button must be pressed.
- Portable Charger Functionality: When not in use with a tool, the battery pack can serve as a portable charger for mobile devices.
- Cold Weather Operation: The battery is designed to function in low temperatures. For optimal performance in cold conditions (down to -14°C / 6.8°F), it is recommended to place the battery on a tool and use it for a light duty application for about a minute to allow it to warm up.
- Battery Protection Features: The lithium-ion cells are protected by built-in features designed to maximize battery life. If a tool stops during use, releasing the trigger should reset it. If it still doesn't work, the battery likely needs recharging.
Maintenance Features
- Charging: The battery should only be charged with Greenworks 24 series chargers. It is crucial to recharge the battery at room temperature and avoid overheating.
- Storage: Store the battery in shady, cool, and dry environments, away from direct sunlight or warm conditions. For extended storage, if the battery has not been charged for a long period, it should be charged for at least two hours every two months to maintain its health.
- Handling Leaks: In the rare event of a small leak from the battery cells due to extreme usage or temperature conditions, and if the leakage gets on the skin, it should be washed immediately with soap and water, then neutralized with lemon juice, vinegar, or another mild liquid. If the fluid gets into the eyes, flush immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
- Disposal: The manual emphasizes environmentally safe battery disposal. Cracked or broken battery packs, with or without leaks, should not be recharged or used. They must be disposed of and replaced with a new one. Users are explicitly warned not to attempt repairs, incinerate the battery, or dispose of it in regular household trash or landfills. Instead, it should be taken to a certified recycling or disposal center. Terminals should be covered with heavy-duty adhesive tape before disposal to prevent short circuits.
- General Precautions: Do not disassemble the battery, expose it to water or salt, or place it in high-temperature locations. Avoid short-circuiting terminals with metal objects. Do not knock, strike, step on, solder directly onto, or pierce the battery. Discontinue use immediately if the battery emits an unusual smell, feels hot, changes color/shape, or appears abnormal in any way. Ensure the USB power port is clear of debris.
