Assembly Instructions

Assembling the Wheels

The wheels are used to control the depth of operation, and adjust the height of the cultivator.

Installing the Tines

The cultivator comes with four tines—For correct operation of the unit, the tines must be installed in the correct order.

Tines Installed Correctly

When the tines are installed correctly, the flute on the tines should line-up, and the angled edge of the tine blades should point towards the ground.

Install Two Tines for Tilling a Narrow Area

Place tine (A) onto the shaft, and place tine (D) onto the other side shaft. Insert the hitch pin into the holes.

Assembling the Handlebar

Align the holes on the upper handle with the holes on the lower handle. Insert the bolts, and tighten them using the wing nuts.

Operating Instructions

Starting the Cultivator

Insert the battery into the unit until it clicks securely. Press the Safety-lock out button and pull the Bale Switch upwards.

Stopping the Cultivator

Release bale switch to stop the cultivator.

Preparing the Seed Bed

The cultivator can be used to break up garden soil and prepare a seed bed for planting. Plan ahead to leave enough room between rows.

Tilling Sod

Tilling sod into the soil is not recommended. If sod must be removed, it is suggested to do as follows:

General Tilling/Cultivating

Shallow cultivating can disrupt weeds and aerate soil without injuring nearby plant roots. It should be done often.

Battery

Checking Battery Capacity

Press the battery capacity indicator (BCI) button. The lights will illuminate according to the batteries current power level.

Battery Charger

Charging Procedure

It is recommended to fully charge before first use to ensure that maximum run time can be achieved. This lithium-ion battery will not develop a memory.

Checking the Charge

If the battery pack does not charge properly: Check the current at the power outlet with another tool.

Charger Mounting

This charger can be installed hanging on a wall using two #8 screws (not included).

Maintenance

General Maintenance

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from commercial solvents.

Storing the Cultivator

Clean dirt, grass, and other materials from the entire unit. Wipe the tines with oil or spray them with silicone lubricant to prevent rusting.

Preparing for Use After Storage

Unfold the handles into the upright position and secure by tightening handlebar knobs. Do not allow the switch trigger cable to become pinched.
