MODEL# 8035 HERACLES - SEESAW
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CHECK ALL NUTS AND BOLTS TWICE MONTHLY DURING THE USAGE SEASON
FOR TIGHTNESS AND TIGHTEN AS REQUIRED. IT IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT
THAT THIS PROCEDURE BE FOLLOWED AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SEASON.
At the beginning of each play season:
- Reinstall any plastic parts, such as seats or any other items that were removed for cold season.
- Lubricate all metallic moving parts.
- Check all moving parts including seats, handle bars and pivot bolt for wear, rust or other deterioration and damage.
Immediately remove and replace as necessary. Contact customer service for replacement parts.
- Check all protective coverings on bolts, pipes, edges, and corners. Replace if they are loose, cracked or missing.
- Check metal parts for rust. If found, sand and repaint using a non lead-based paint meeting the requirements of 16
CFR 1303.
- Rake and check depth of loose fill protective surfacing materials to prevent compaction and to maintain appropriate
depth. Replace as necessary.
Twice a month during play season:
- Check all protective coverings on bolts, pipes, edges, and corners. Replace if they are loose, cracked or missing.
- Rake and check depth of loose fill protective surfacing materials to prevent compaction and to maintain appropriate
depth. Replace as necessary.
Once a month during play season:
- Check all moving parts including seats, handle bars and pivot bolt for wear, rust or other deterioration and damage.
Immediately remove and replace as necessary. Contact customer service for replacement parts.
- Lubricate all metallic moving parts.
At the end of each play season or when the temperature drops below 32°F/0°C:
- Rake and check depth of loose fill protective surfacing materials to prevent compaction and to maintain appropriate
depth. Replace as necessary.
- Remove the seesaw and store indoor. In extreme cold weather, plastic materials lose resilience and may become
brittle and crack upon impact.
Never use pliers to tighten up screws – these can cause damages to both the paintwork and the special anti-corrosion
painting.
Tighten all nuts and bolts securely. Replace as necessary. If not checked regularly, bolts can be loose or missed and
omponents can become detached and cause injuries.
Applying a light coat of automobile wax to all metal tubing surfaces will help protect your unit and add to its longevity.
When the seesaw is exposed to direct sunlight, check the temperature on the play accessories before using the
seesaw.
Check unit for scuffs, burrs, sharp edges and any other defects that may occur from assembly, abuse, shipping or
everyday use. Burrs and sharp edges may be filed down until smooth and covered with duct tape if necessary.
To help maintain the products appearance, occasionally clean the seats and metal framework with a damp cloth lightly
– but DO NOT use abrasive chemical cleaners.
When the time comes to disassemble and dispose of this playground unit, please completely disassemble the unit and
discard of it in a safe place and manner so as not to present any hazard to any individual.
NEVER attach any materials that are not specifically designed for use with this playground unit, such as (but not limited
to) jump ropes, clotheslines, pet leashes, cables and chains. These pose potential strangulation hazards.
Check and identify all the parts and contents of each Fitting Pack against the Parts List (page 5 & 6) before assembly.
Do this by laying them out on a flat surface – but not on grass, as small items can easily be lost.
Only adults should set up this seesaw, it contains sharp points and small parts which are necessary for assembly. Prior
to and during assembly of this product, keep all components out of children’s reach. Small parts pose a choke hazard
to children under 3 years.
DO NOT allow children to play on or around the setup area until it has been completely and correctly assembled.
Please save all packaging materials until assembly is completed to ensure no parts are discarded.
Always wear approved safety glasses and protective gloves during assembly.
