Overview

The Grundig Music Boy 51 (RP 5201 PLL) is a portable radio designed for audio signal playback. It features a compact design with a telescopic antenna for optimal FM (VHF) reception. The device is powered by either a mains power supply (230 V, 50/60 Hz) or four 1.5V C-size batteries (IEC, AM 2, LR 14). It also includes a battery compartment for back-up batteries (micro type, e.g., AM 3, LR 6, AA size) to preserve stored settings during power outages or brief disconnections from the mains.

Function Description:

The Music Boy 51 offers a range of functions for radio listening and alarm features.

  • Radio Operation: It supports FM (VHF) frequency band from 87.5 to 108.0 MHz. Users can manually tune stations in 50 kHz steps or perform automatic station searches.
  • Preset Stations: The device allows storing up to 10 radio stations on preset buttons (1-5 and 6-10 using the "+5" button). An automatic search function stores the first ten strong signals when the device is first connected or batteries are inserted.
  • Volume and Tone Control: Volume can be adjusted using the "+ VOL -" buttons, and the tone can be set with the "TONE" button.
  • Clock and Alarm: The radio includes a digital clock and an alarm function. The alarm can be set to either a signal tone or a radio station.
  • Sleep Timer: A sleep timer allows the device to switch off automatically in radio mode after a preset time, ranging from 10 to 90 minutes.
  • Key Lock: The buttons can be disabled to prevent accidental operation.

The device is noise-suppressed according to EU directives (89/336/EEC, 73/23/EEC, 93/68/EEC) and conforms to safety regulations VDE 0860 and IEC 65. Technical and design modifications are reserved.
