Do you have a question about the Grundig SM 7280 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the Grundig SM 7280 Jug Blender, a household appliance designed for blending various food items. The blender is intended for private domestic use and is not suitable for professional catering or commercial purposes.
The Grundig SM 7280 Jug Blender is equipped with a motor housing, a glass jug, a blade unit, and a lid with a cap/measuring cup. It features a control dial for adjusting the blending speed and a pulse function for short bursts of high-speed blending. The appliance is designed to process food items, create mixtures, and even crush small ice cubes.
The blending process involves placing ingredients into the glass jug, securing the lid, and then selecting the desired speed using the control dial. The blade unit, located at the bottom of the glass jug, rotates to blend the contents. The appliance is designed for short periods of use, with a maximum continuous operation time of 1 minute, after which it should be allowed to cool down.
Before using the blender, it's crucial to ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, flat, clean, dry, and non-slip surface. All parts that come into contact with food should be cleaned thoroughly before the first use. The power cord must be checked to ensure it's not damaged and that the mains voltage matches the rating label. For safety, it's recommended to connect the appliance to a household current fault protection circuit breaker.
To prepare the blender for use, first remove all packaging materials. Place the motor housing on a level surface. Then, set the glass jug with its opening facing down on a level surface. Carefully remove the blade unit by turning it counterclockwise and lifting it from the sides (never by the blades themselves, as they are very sharp). After cleaning all parts (except the motor housing), re-assemble the jug blender in reverse order. Ensure the glass jug is properly seated on the motor housing, with the notches on the bottom of the jug fitting those in the motor housing.
When adding ingredients, it's important to cut food into small pieces, ideally 2-5 cm long, to prevent damage to the blade unit and ensure efficient blending. For optimal blending, it's recommended to add liquid ingredients first, unless a recipe specifies otherwise. When blending hard foods, a ratio of 3 units of hard food to 2 units of water is suggested for a smooth experience (e.g., 60g hard food to 40ml water). Hot foods or liquids should not be put into the glass jug; if processing soup, the liquid temperature should not exceed 40°C. For crushing ice, start with three-quarters of ice in the jug and add 15 ml of cold potable water. Never attempt to crush ice without adding water.
After placing ingredients in the jug, close the lid securely, ensuring the cap/measuring cup is inside the lid opening and secured. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. The blending speed can be adjusted using the control dial. Turning the dial to "1" initiates low-speed blending. For higher speeds, turn the dial to levels "2-4". For short, powerful blending pulses, turn the dial to "P"; the blender will stop and return to "0" automatically when released.
Ingredients can be added during blending through the opening in the lid by removing the cap/measuring cup. Once the desired consistency is achieved, turn the control dial to "0" to switch off the blender. Always ensure the motor has completely stopped before removing the glass jug. Never place utensils into the glass jug while the blender is operating.
After use, disconnect the power plug from the outlet. To remove the glass jug, lift it upwards from the motor housing (do not rotate it). Then, open the lid and pour the blended mixture into glasses or other containers.
Proper cleaning and care are essential for the longevity of the blender. Always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning or changing accessories. The blade unit is very sharp and must be handled with utmost care to avoid injuries; never clean it with bare hands.
After each use, the jug blender should be cleaned promptly to prevent food remnants from hardening, which would make cleaning more difficult. Do not use petrol, solvents, abrasive cleaners, metal objects, or hard brushes to clean the appliance.
To clean the blender, first turn it off and unplug it. Allow the appliance to cool down. Remove the glass jug from the motor housing and rinse it with water to remove large food particles. Then, replace the glass jug on the motor housing. Add 1 to 1.5 cups of warm water with a few drops of mild cleanser into the glass jug and switch to speed "4" for a few seconds. Remove the glass jug again and rinse with water, repeating if necessary.
It is important not to immerse the motorized base or the blade unit in liquid, or place them in the dishwasher. Only the lid and the glass jug are safe for immersion and dishwasher cleaning. The blade assembly bearings are designed with a lifetime lubricant, and exposure to boiling water can damage them, shortening the life of the blender.
The exterior of the appliance can be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth and some mild cleanser. Wipe the blender base, cutter unit, and lid with a lint-free cloth before the next usage.
For storage, if the appliance will not be used for an extended period, ensure it is unplugged and completely dry. Store it in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children.
