Overview

This document describes the GRUNDIG VCH 6130 Wet & Dry Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, providing essential information for its safe and effective operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Function Description

The GRUNDIG VCH 6130 is a versatile handheld vacuum cleaner designed for both wet and dry cleaning tasks in a household environment. Its primary function is to efficiently remove dust, debris, and small liquid spills from various surfaces. The device is equipped with a powerful 7.2V motor, ensuring effective suction for different cleaning needs. A key feature is its "wet & dry" capability, allowing users to switch between vacuuming dry particles and collecting liquids without needing separate devices. For enhanced visibility during cleaning, especially in poorly lit areas, the vacuum cleaner includes an integrated LED light. The device operates on rechargeable batteries, offering cordless convenience and flexibility during use. Charging is facilitated via a power adapter and a dedicated wall rack, which also serves as a storage solution.

Usage Features

The vacuum cleaner is designed for straightforward operation. To begin, users must ensure the device is fully charged, which takes approximately 14 hours for a full charge, providing 7 to 10 minutes of operating time. The charge indicator light turns blue during charging and switches off once the battery is full. It's recommended to only recharge the batteries when they are nearly empty to prolong their lifespan and to charge them at room temperature (between 0°C and 37°C). For the first use, a complete charge of approximately 16 hours, followed by a full discharge, is advised to optimize battery life.

For dry vacuum cleaning, the filter nozzle and sponge filter are inserted into the container, which is then placed onto the motor unit, locking audibly into place. Depending on the cleaning task, either the crevice tool or brush attachment can be connected to the container. The device is switched on by moving the On/Off switch to position 'I' and turned off by moving it to position '0'. The container has a capacity of 0.5L for dry vacuuming.

When performing wet vacuum cleaning, the process is similar, but the wet nozzle is connected to the container. It's important to note that the sponge filter is not used for wet vacuuming. The container's capacity for wet cleaning is 0.15L, and users must observe the MAX marker for liquids to prevent overfilling. After wet vacuuming, the container should be emptied immediately. The device should not be used to vacuum both dry and wet dust simultaneously; the container must be emptied and cleaned when switching between these modes. The integrated LED light can be activated by pressing the light button, providing illumination for dark areas and improving cleaning precision.

The wall rack installation is a practical feature for storage and charging. The rack should be installed near a power outlet, ensuring the power adapter can reach it, and with sufficient free space above for easy placement of the vacuum cleaner. It should also be installed out of reach of children. Screws and dowels are provided for installation, and users are cautioned against drilling over wiring, cables, or water pipes.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and care are crucial for maintaining the vacuum cleaner's performance and longevity. After each use, the unit should be cleaned. The cleaning process involves several steps:

  1. Pushing the release button to detach the container from the motor unit.
  2. Pulling the sponge filter from the filter nozzle using its strap.
  3. Removing the filter nozzle.
  4. Emptying the container of collected debris or liquids.
  5. Rinsing the container, sponge filter, and filter nozzle under running water.
  6. Wiping the motor unit and wall rack with a damp rag and a mild cleaning agent. It is critical never to submerge the motor unit in water or use aggressive/abrasive cleaning agents, benzine, solvents, or chemically treated rags, as these can damage the device.
  7. Ensuring all components are thoroughly dried after cleaning before reassembling or storing the unit.

For storage and charging, the vacuum cleaner should be placed in its wall rack, making sure the container is empty. The wall rack also features appropriate slots for storing the various nozzles, keeping all accessories organized and readily accessible.

In case of battery leakage, users are advised to prevent contact with the leaked acid and to have the appliance batteries removed and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner by a qualified expert. The device should never be opened by the user, as this voids the warranty and poses safety risks. If the appliance or power adapter is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by a qualified service person.

The product is designed with environmental considerations in mind. At the end of its service life, the device and its built-in rechargeable batteries should not be disposed of with normal household waste. Instead, they should be taken to a collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, where batteries are removed and disposed of separately, in accordance with local regulations. This practice helps protect the environment by recycling used products and materials.
