The Guardian Telecom WRR Series is a line of weatherproof industrial ringdown telephones designed for reliable point-to-point communication in harsh environments. These telephones are suitable for use in refineries, mills, plants, warehouses, airports, ski hills, or areas with high humidity.
Function Description
The WRR Industrial Ringdown Telephone is a rugged device that, when the handset is lifted, automatically dials a pre-programmed number, facilitating immediate communication. It can be supplied with an optional Auto Dialer or configured for dialing through a PABX.

Maintenance Features
Installation:
- Follow all appropriate electrical codes and use approved electrical fittings.
- Choose a wall location free of obstructions, supporting 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg) plus any additional load.
- Ensure electrical connection circuits are not live during installation.
- Mounting can be done without or with an optional mounting plate using appropriate templates and screws.
- Wiring involves connecting Tip/Ring/Ground wires to the surge arrestor via the conduit entrance.
Field Repairs:
- Repairs must be carried out by qualified technicians using OEM parts to avoid voiding the warranty and potential hazards.
- Disconnect the telephone from Tip and Ring power before attempting repairs.
- Carefully remove the front cover assembly and separate it from the housing by disconnecting harness plugs, noting that the handset and electronics are attached to the front plate.
- Perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Carefully replace the front plate, ensuring the gasket is snug to maintain weather resistance.
Fuse Replacement:
- The fuse is a 0.25 amp, 250V, 3AG fast blow fuse.
- To replace, push in the end cap of the fuse holder and turn counterclockwise to open. Insert a new fuse and close the holder.
- WARNING: Only replace with the specified fuse type; failure to do so will void the warranty. If the fuse fails again after replacement, check the telephone system wiring. The unit is typically powered at 48 volts DC and must not be connected to 120 volts AC.
Product Return (RMA Process):
- On-Site Correction: First, check for improper installation, incorrect wiring, or connection to an incorrect power source (e.g., 120V AC instead of Tip & Ring). Replace the internal fuse if blown.
- Return Materials Authorization (RMA): If the unit still fails after on-site checks, contact Guardian Telecom to obtain an RMA number. This can be done online or by phone. Provide product information, owner details, and a description of the problem. Shipping documents must include the RMA number, owner's contact information, serial number, and date of export (for international returns).
- Factory Authorized Service: Upon receipt, products under warranty are repaired and returned within five working days. For products subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, or out of warranty, an estimate for repair costs will be provided before service.
