18. If necessary, adjust potentiometer R101 on the Primary Current
Drive PCB until the voltage for POSITIVE polarity is greater than
the voltage for NEGATIVE polarity.
19. If necessary, further adjust R101 on the Primary Current Drive PCB
until the voltage closest to 0 V is of opposite polarity to the voltage
furthest from 0 V and within 20
µV of 0 V.
NOTE:
If the voltage for POSITIVE polarity is closest to 0 V, further
adjust potentiometer R101 until the voltage for POSITIVE
polarity is between 0 µV and +20 µV. If the voltage for
NEGATIVE polarity is closest to 0 V, further adjust
potentiometer R101 until the voltage for NEGATIVE polarity is
between 0 µV and -20 µV.
20. Set the current polarity to POSITIVE.
21. Set the current to 100 mA.
NOTE:
To set the current, press the menu key under "More x-x" until
the "Sign/milliAmps/Volts/More 2-4" menu appears. Press the
menu key under "milliAmps", key in the current and press the
menu key under "milliAmps" again.
22. Note the voltage at Rx P
2
with respect to Rx P
1
.
23. Reverse the current polarity and again note the voltage at Rx P
2
with
respect to Rx P
1
.
24. If necessary, adjust potentiometer R102 on the Primary Current
Drive PCB until the voltages for the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE
polarities are symmetrical about ±1 V.
e.g. A voltage of +1.00004 V (40 uV above +1 V) for POSITIVE
polarity and a voltage of -0.99996 V (40
µV below -1 V) for
NEGATIVE polarity is a proper adjustment.
NOTE:
BOTH voltages should be within 100 µV of ±1 V.
