3. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1. PRELIMINARIES
The 6675A has been shipped with the line input voltage selector set to 120 V. The line input
selector must be set to the correct line voltage before power is applied to the instrument. The
settings available are 100 V, 120 V, 220 V, and 240 V. Figure 3-1 details the line input voltage
selector setting. Remove the warning label positioned across the power line input socket after
setting the correct operating voltage.
Ensure that the correct fuse has been installed : 2 A 250 V (T) should be used for a nominal line
input of 120 V and 1 A, 250 V (T) should be used for a nominal line input of 240 V. Only fuses
with the rated current and specified type should be used for replacement.
Verify that the local line input power frequency is as indicated on the rear panel label. If the line
input frequency is not as marked, see section 4.3.1 to set the correct line input frequency option.
The supplied molded line cord should be plugged into the 3-pin power receptacle on the rear panel
of the instrument. Ensure that the other end of the line cord is plugged into a wall socket or
extension cord that has a protective or safety ground. Where 3-contact power supply outputs are
not available, a suitable protective ground connection must be made before switching the
instrument power on. Any interruption of the protective ground may possibly render the
instrument unsafe.
Where the molded plug on the line cord supplied with the instrument does not match the local
power outlet socket, the plug can be removed and replaced with one that does fit the local service.
The plug should be re-wired as follows :
Brown wire - Line input
Blue wire - Neutral input
Green/Yellow - Ground (safety)
3.1.1. Rackmount Bracket.
An optional set of rackmount brackets can be supplied with the 6675A. When the 6675A is
to be used in a standard 19 inch rack, it is recommended that the supplied rackmount
brackets be used in conjunction with a shelf or other support plate inside the 19 inch rack.
To use the rackmount brackets, first remove the standard carrying handles at the front panel
by removing the two screws securing each handle. Place the rackmount brackets in
