3.8.4.1. General Procedures Using Guildline High Current Range Extenders.
Step 1) Connect the 1 Rs resistor to the 4 Rs copper terminals. Connect
Rx, to the high current supply, and to the model 6623 Range
Extender as shown in Figure 3-9.
Step 2) From the Main Menu on the 6675A select the <Setup Menu>
(making sure the Softkey on the extreme right displays <resistors>
and not <probes> )
and either
a) Select a stored measurement configuration by entering the
<Main_Setup_load_select> menu and using the arrow keys
to select a stored setup (using the <Ok> key to select it). Use
the <PREVIOUS> key to get back to the Main Menu so that
the <Measure Menu> can be selected
or
b) Create a new measurement configuration by entering the
<Main_Setup_Edit_Mode_Iextend_Edit> menu.
Resistor Setup:
Rs - the value in ohms of the Rs resistor. It is usually 1 Ohm but
does not have to be. A positive number has to be entered for
a valid measurement configuration.
Rs Serial # - the character string entered here is the label the file is
saved under if you do decide to save this
measurement configuration.
Rx - a value does not need to be entered here. If a value is entered
than the rough null checks are omitted in the measurement
cycle.
Reversal Rate - a whole number 4 and 32,000 has to be entered
for a valid measurement cycle. For the best
possible measurements with the lowest noise it is
highly recommended that a reversal rate of 60
seconds be chosen.
