The K-BUS KNX Power Supply, model BBPS-02/640.1, is a crucial component for KNX/EIB Home and Building Control Systems. This device is designed to produce and monitor the KNX system voltage, ensuring stable and reliable operation of connected KNX devices. It features two output connection terminals: one for KNX bus supply and signal transmission, and another for auxiliary power supply, providing a stable 30V DC voltage to terminal devices. The bus connection terminal integrates a reactor, and the auxiliary power supply terminal can also function as a bus power supply terminal with signal transmission if an external reactor is connected.
The KNX power supply operates as an analog-to-digital installation equipment, designed for easy installation in distribution boxes on a 35mm DIN rail, conforming to EN 60 715. Electrical connections are made via screw posts. The bus connection uses a red/black KNX connection terminal, while the auxiliary power supply connects via a yellow/white KNX connection terminal. The input end connects to a 230V AC power supply.
A key feature is the reset function, triggered by pressing the reset button for more than 0.5 seconds to reset the KNX bus voltage. A prolonged press (22 seconds, excluding button action time) initiates a power supply reset. Disconnecting the bus supply terminal from the power supply will cause other devices on the bus to return to their initial state. If the bus is disconnected for an extended period, the bus supply terminal must be removed from the power supply.
To ensure safe and correct operation, several precautions must be observed:
The device includes several indicator LEDs to provide status feedback:
Upon correct installation and switching on the main power supply for the bus, the green LED labeled "ON" should illuminate. The circuit level indicator LEDs will light up according to the load range, and all other LEDs should be off, confirming correct device function.
