Overview

This document describes the Haemmerlin concrete mixer, a device designed for mixing concrete and mortar for both domestic and professional use.

Function Description:

The concrete mixer is designed to efficiently mix concrete and mortar. Its primary function is to combine base ingredients (sand, gravel), binding agents (cement, lime), and water to create a homogeneous mixture. The mixer features a rotating drum that ensures thorough mixing. The tilting mechanism, controlled by a lever, allows for precise positioning of the drum for mixing, emptying, and transport. The device is equipped with safety features to prevent accidents during operation, including protections against electrical overloads and mechanical hazards.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual provides specifications for three models: 125 CP/CF, 165 CP/CF, and 190 CP/CF.

  • Certificate: RWTUW GS 03024 (for 125LS/LP and 165LS/LP), RWTUW GS 0324 (for *190LS/LP) The mixer conforms to EC Directive 98/37/EC and prEN 12151 (stand 12/98), as well as harmonized standards EN 292-1, EN 292-2, and EN-60204-1.

Usage Features:

  • Preparation for Operation: Before starting, users must read and understand all safety instructions. The mixer should be placed on a firm, level surface to ensure stability and prevent tipping. The work area around the mixer must be kept clear, and adequate lighting should be provided. Access to the work area by third parties, especially children under 16, is prohibited.
  • Mixing Process: The drum must be in the designated mixing position for optimal results. Mixing involves adding water and base materials, then binding agents, and repeating these steps until the desired consistency is achieved. A professional's advice is recommended for precise material quantities.
  • Emptying the Drum: To empty, unlock the tilting mechanism by pulling the lever, then gently tilt the drum using the lever to the emptying position. The drum should be rotating during filling and emptying.
  • Transport: The mixer is not designed for road transport or towing. It should be transported by vehicle or trailer and can be moved manually on a construction site. Before any transport, the mixer must be disconnected from the power supply. For crane lifting, specific attachment points (labeled 1 and 2 in the diagrams) must be used with a lifting rope rated for 200 kg.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always disconnect the power plug before any maintenance, repair, or transport.
    • Never reach into the rotating drum with hands or tools.
    • Do not lubricate the gear ring.
    • Wear personal protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses, dust mask) when handling cement or additives.
    • Ensure all safety devices are properly installed and functional.
    • The mixer should only be operated with the protective motor housing closed.
    • In case of motor overload, a bimetallic thermal switch will automatically shut off the motor; allow it to cool before restarting.
    • The power cable must comply with IEC 245-4:1980 (DIN 57 282) and be marked H 07 RN-F or equivalent. It must have a minimum cross-section of 3x1.5 mm² for lengths up to 25 m, and 3x2.5 mm² for longer lengths. The cable must be protected against mechanical damage and be splash-proof.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: The mixer is designed to be low-maintenance. The drum and drive shaft are equipped with permanently lubricated ball bearings and are splash-proof.
  • Cleaning: After each use, the mixer must be cleaned. Position the drum to position 3 using the tilting lever. Disconnect the power plug before cleaning. Use a spatula and wire brush to clean the inside of the drum, rinsing with water. Concrete and mortar residues on the gear ring must be removed immediately. Do not spray water directly onto the motor housing or switch, especially if the housing is open.
  • Storage: After cleaning, the drum should be set to position 4 (transport position). Store the mixer in a dry, ventilated area. For long-term storage, the drive belt should be loosened by slightly raising the motor housing (approx. 2 cm) after loosening the connecting screws.
  • Repairs: Always disconnect the power plug before any repairs. Repairs to electrical components should only be carried out by the manufacturer or authorized technicians using original spare parts.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a table of common problems, their possible causes, and remedies. For example, if the motor does not start, causes could include lack of power, faulty connection cables, or an overloaded motor. If the motor runs but the drum does not turn, possible causes include a blocked gear wheel, loose or broken belt, or a faulty capacitor. Remedies involve checking fuses, cooling the motor, checking air ducts, tightening the pulley, or replacing damaged parts.
