Overview

This document is an operation manual for Haier Split Type Room Air Conditioners, providing detailed information on their functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Haier Split Type Room Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling, heating, dehumidification, and fan-only operation for indoor spaces. It features a remote controller for convenient operation and various modes to enhance user comfort and energy efficiency.

Operation Modes:

  • COOL Mode: For cooling the room.
  • HEAT Mode: For heating the room (not available on cooling-only units).
  • DRY Mode: For dehumidification, running intermittently at low speed when the room temperature is lower than the set temperature +2°C.
  • FAN Mode: Operates only as a fan, without cooling or heating. Temperature setting is disabled in this mode.
  • AUTO Mode: The air conditioner automatically selects cool or heat operation based on the room temperature and adjusts fan speed accordingly.

Special Functions:

  • SLEEP Operation: Adjusts temperature settings over time to ensure comfortable sleep. In COOL/DRY mode, the temperature increases by 1°C per hour for the first two hours, then runs for 6 hours before stopping. In HEAT mode, the temperature decreases by 2°C per hour for the first two hours, then increases by 1°C per hour for the next 3 hours, running for 3 hours before stopping. Fan speed is set to low during sleep, unless it was already low.
  • POWER Operation: Provides rapid heating or cooling.
  • QUIET Operation: Reduces noise for a quieter environment.
  • HEALTH Operation: (Unavailable on some models) Utilizes an anion generator to balance air ions, kill bacteria, and promote dust sedimentation for cleaner air.
  • TIMER ON/OFF: Allows users to set specific times for the unit to turn on or off, or both.
  • Healthy Airflow Operation: Adjusts the vertical louvers to specific positions for optimal airflow, with options for upward, downward, or present positions.

Airflow Direction Adjustment:

The vertical flap can be adjusted to various positions (Pos.1 to Pos.5) using the SWING UP/DOWN button on the remote controller. An autoswing function is also available. The left and right airflow direction can be adjusted using the SWING LEFT/RIGHT button.

Emergency Operation:

In case of a defective or lost remote controller, the unit can be operated using an emergency switch. It will run automatically in COOL mode (26°C, AUTO fan) if the room temperature is above 23°C, and in HEAT mode (23°C, AUTO fan) if below 23°C. Temperature and fan speed settings cannot be changed in this mode.

Test Operation:

A test operation switch allows the unit to run in cooling mode with high fan speed, useful when the room temperature is below 16°C.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Refrigerant Type: R32.
  • GWP Value: 675 (Global Warming Potential).
  • Power Source: 230V, T1 Climate.
  • Connecting Wire Type: H07RN-F.
  • Indoor Unit Fuse: T.3.15A/250VAC.
  • Outdoor Unit Fuse: T.25A/250V.
  • Minimum Room Area for Installation: 3 m².
  • Minimum Distance from Indoor Unit to Floor: 2m.
  • Minimum Distance from Signal Transmission Head to Receiver Hole: 7m (without obstacles).

Applicable Ambient Temperature Range:

  • Cooling:
    • Indoor: Max D.B/W.B 32°C/23°C, Min D.B/W.B 21°C/15°C
    • Outdoor: Max D.B/W.B 46°C/26°C, Min D.B -15°C
  • Heating:
    • Indoor: Max D.B 27°C, Min D.B 15°C
    • Outdoor: Max D.B/W.B 24°C/18°C, Min D.B/W.B -7°C/-8°C
    • Outdoor (Inverter): Max D.B/W.B 24°C/18°C, Min D.B -15°C

Usage Features

  • Remote Controller: Provides full control over operation modes, temperature settings, fan speed, timer functions, and special features. It uses R-03 batteries.
  • Display Board: Located on the indoor unit, it shows the ambient temperature and operation mode indicators.
  • Installation: Requires professional installation according to local wiring regulations. Specific instructions are provided for mounting the indoor unit, making wall holes, connecting piping (left, left-rear, other directions), and electrical wiring.
  • Drainage: The drain hose must be installed with a downward slope to ensure proper drainage and prevent water accumulation.
  • Safety Precautions: Emphasizes the importance of using an exclusive power source with a circuit breaker, proper grounding, and avoiding damage to the power supply cord. Warns against self-repair, blocking air inlets/outlets, and operating with wet hands.
  • Troubleshooting: Provides a guide for common issues like the system not restarting immediately, unusual noises, smells, mist/steam, and poor cooling, along with potential causes and solutions.

Maintenance Features

  • Air Filter Cleaning: The air filters should be cleaned every two weeks. This involves opening the inlet grille, removing the filters, cleaning them with a vacuum cleaner or water, drying them in the shade, and reattaching them correctly.
  • Air Purifying Filter Replacement: Instructions are provided for replacing the air purifying filter, including opening the inlet grille, detaching the old filter, and attaching new ones.
  • Photocatalyst Air Purifying Filter: Needs to be solarized every 6 months for normal family use.
  • Bacteria-killing Medium Air Purifying Filter: Does not require replacement but should be cleaned frequently by removing dust to maintain performance. It should be stored in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight when not in use.
  • Indoor Body Cleaning: The indoor unit can be wiped with a soft, dry cloth. For serious stains, a neutral detergent diluted with water can be used, followed by wiping with a dry cloth. Avoid using gasoline, benzene, thinner, or hot water above 40°C.
  • Remote Controller Cleaning: Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use glass cleaner or chemical cloths.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the unit will not be used for a long time, turn off the main power supply switch and remove batteries from the remote controller.
  • Proper Room Temperature Setting: Advises maintaining a comfortable temperature and closing doors/windows during operation.
  • Timer Usage: Encourages using the timer function for energy efficiency.
  • Louver Usage: Recommends using louvers effectively for better air circulation, but advises against keeping the horizontal flap in a downward position for extended periods in COOL or DRY mode to prevent condensate water.
