Third section
1 Set the next stanchion one down from
the last stanchion at the top of the stairs.
2 Add the top rail section.
3 Set the next stanchion from the one above.
4 Add the bottom rail section.
5 Install all of the remaining stanchions without
adjusting the height.
6 Add all of the track bolts. These should
be hand-tightened to a torque of 25Nm
(Figure 10).
7 Check all stanchion heights and tighten the
stanchions (Figure 11).
Note: For multi-flight stairs push cable
through each separate section of rail.
8 Fasten some of the screws to the stanchion
feet, typically two per metre, to hold the
rail captive, allowing the power pack to be
installed and checked.
Note: Care must be taken to ensure the rail
is secure enough to carry out the installation
and checks; add more screws if required.
