Step 1 Firstly, please make sure that the roof
bars are approximately 70cm apart. Then follow
steps 1 to 4 of the HandiHoldall
fitting and
safety guidelines.
Step 2 Lift the HandiHoldall
(unloaded) onto
the roof bars ensuring that a set of the Hi Grip
horizontal loops on the bottom of the HandiHoldall
(A) are positioned over the top of the roof bar. Please
note that we recommend that the HandiHoldall sits
with a slight overhang over the front and rear roof
bars.
Step 3 Take the first of the shorter Hi Grip
HandiStraps and pass this through the horizontal loop
on the bottom of the HandiHoldall
ensuring that
the rubberised side is facing down (B).
Holding the clamp open, pass the strap under
the roof bar and back through the clamp.
Pull the strap tightly and secure by releasing the
clamp. Ensure that the clamp is sitting underneath the
roof bar (C). Repeat this process for the other
3 loops at each corner and tie-off any excess strap.
Step 4 Load the HandiHoldall
following the
recommended guidelines (D) and zip shut the top
ensuring that the zip pulls are positioned at the back
of the bag and that the storm flap is secured to the
Velcro on the lower section of the HandiHoldall
.
Step 5 With the HandiHoldall
now fully
loaded, take the first of the 1.5 metre HandiStraps
and pass the strap through the loops on the side and
top of one corner of the HandiHoldall
.
Now pass the strap around the end of the roof bar
where it meets the roof rail or the stem of the carrier
fixing point. Pass the strap back through the buckle,
tighten and tie-off any excess strap (E).
Step 6 Repeat at all 4 corners of the
HandiHoldall
. Recheck the fastening of all the
HandiStraps
(F).
It is important that all the straps are tensioned
correctly to ensure that there is no movement of the
HandiHoldall
on the roof bars during transit which
may cause damage to the waterproof fabric.
Step 7 If the HandiHoldall
is not fully loaded,
please use the compression straps located on the front
and back of the bag to ensure that the contents do not
move whilst in transit.
Please ensure that your load is carried securely at
all times and in a way that will not endanger other
persons or road users.
When a load is carried on the roof of a vehicle, it will
change that vehicle’s handling characteristics, notably
its susceptibility to side winds and its behaviour on
bends and under braking. It is recommended that you
drive with more care, reduce your speed and allow
for longer braking distances. Any heavier items stored
in the HandiHoldall
may be at risk of moving around
during transit and therefore care should be taken to
ensure that these items are secured within
the HandiHoldall
.
Please do not store the following items
in the HandiHoldall
:
Hazardous materials or chemicals
Food stuffs
Sharp items
Building materials

In the instance that the HandiHoldall

folded and positioned to the underside of the
HandiHoldall
. Please be careful not to cover the
loops on the bottom of the bag.

permanently attached to the car.
Please do not exceed the maximum speed limits
for the road and for your vehicle.
• Your HandiHoldall
should not be overloaded
and the contents not exceed the recommended
weight limit of 50kg. If the vehicle manufacturer
recommends a lower maximum load for the
vehicle’s roof, please use this guideline.
Please distribute your load evenly over the base
of the HandiHoldall
and ensure that items are
not free to move about whilst in transit.
• Check the tension of all fastening straps at regular
intervals during travel.
• Avoid removing the HandiHoldall
from the roof
of the car when it is fully loaded.
• Always remember to load your HandiHoldall
from the offside of the road.
