Why won't my Hanover Patio Glow 98900 Outdoor Fireplace burner light?
    • D
      Daniel CrossAug 5, 2025
If the burner of your Hanover Outdoor Fireplace won’t light, start by checking that the gas tank valve is open. Then, turn the control knob to the “ON” position and push the control knob in. Ensure the tank has propane gas. Also, make sure a AAA battery is correctly installed with the negative (-) end first and has a charge. Inspect the wire connected to the ignition module and check the electrode for cracks or breaks. Finally, remove any excess lava rocks or fire ices from around the ignition well to ensure sufficient oxygen.

If the burner on your Hanover Outdoor Fireplace lights but won't stay lit, there are a few things to check. First, ensure that the tip of the thermocouple is even with the top of the ignition well, and remove any fire ices from the ignition well. Next, check the thermocouple connection at the main control valve and tighten the thermocouple nut at the back of the valve if it's loose. Lastly, make sure to cover the burner with fire ices according to the instructions.
