English
1. Turn off circuit breakers and wall switch to the
fan supply line leads. (figure 1)
DANGER: Failure to disconnect power
supply prior to installation may result in
serious injury or death.
2. Remove existing 1/2 in. downrod. Save steel
pin and cotter pin.
Unscrew the two set screws on the downrod
converter with a small Phillips screwdriver.
Screw the 3/4 in. downrod into the downrod
converter and align holes. Insert steel pin
through holes and install cotter pin--refer to
figure 2. Secure downrod by tightening the two
set screws on the downrod converter. (figure 2)
3. Starting at threaded end of downrod
converter, thread wiring from fan through
downrod converter and out the top. (You may
require a wiring extension kit, sold separately, if
you are using a longer downrod.) (figure 3)
Insert the threaded end of the downrod converter
into motor housing yoke and align holes.
Re-insert steel pin that was removed from fan
and then re-install cotter pin. [Tip: It may be
necessary to use a small screwdriver to move
the wires gently to one side in order to push the
steel pin completely through the holes in the
downrod converter and the yoke.] Tighten set
screws on motor yoke to secure downrod
converter. (figure 3)
4. Slide canopy, if it was removed, and hanging
ball down over downrod (and wiring)--hanging
ball must be turned with the rounded part facing
the motor housing. Unwrap GREEN ground wire.
Use metal ring on end of green ground wire to
attach GREEN ground screw to top of downrod
as shown in figure 4. [Note: When looking at the
top of the downrod, the small hole located
halfway between the two larger holes is the one
that should be used for the ground screw. The
other small hole is for the set screw and will be
used in Step 5.]

aligning hole in hanging ball with set screw hole
at top of downrod. This will also allow the steel
pin to fall into the proper slots so that the
hanging ball is secure. Insert set screw and
securely tighten. (figure 5)
