Overview

This document provides assembly instructions and care information for a Hartman Market Parasol. The parasol is available in three color options: Dove (13902164), Grey (13902154), and Moss Green (13902144).

Function Description:

The Hartman Market Parasol is designed to provide shade for outdoor use. It features a crank handle mechanism for opening and closing the canopy and a tilt button for adjusting the canopy's angle. The parasol consists of three main components: the parasol canopy (Part A), the pole (Part B), and a cover (Part C).

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Step 1: Assembling the Pole: Press the spring-button on Part A (parasol canopy) and insert Part B (pole) until it locks into place. The spring-button should pop into the hole in the pole, securing the two parts together.
  2. Step 2: Securing the Parasol: It is strongly recommended to secure the parasol to a parasol base, which is sold separately. This ensures stability.
  3. Step 3: Opening and Closing the Canopy: To open the parasol canopy, turn the crank handle in a clockwise direction. To close the canopy, turn the crank handle in the opposite direction. It is crucial that the parasol is in the upright position when closing.
  4. Step 4: Tilting the Parasol: To adjust the angle of the parasol, press the tilt button. Release the button once the desired angle is achieved to maintain its position.

Important Usage Warnings and Precautions:

  • Always close/put down the parasol when not in use.
  • Do not use or assemble the parasol in adverse weather conditions such as heavy winds, rain, thunderstorms, or snow. In such conditions, it is recommended to fold down or disassemble the parasol by following the reverse of the setup steps.
  • The parasol must be secured in place using a parasol base. Ensure the ground is level and firm for optimal stability.
  • Crank Mechanism: If the crank becomes difficult to turn, check if the rope has come off the pulley. Continuing to turn a stiff crank could break the rope or the crank handle.
  • Canopy Fading: Placing the parasol over or near a swimming pool may cause premature fading of the canopy.
  • Wind Damage: To prevent damage, avoid facing the canopy directly against the wind.
  • Assembly: Assemble the parasol carefully according to the instructions.
  • Ground Conditions: Do not assemble the parasol on sandy, muddy, or loose soil.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away during setup. Children must be supervised around the parasol during use.
  • Outdoor Use Only: This parasol is exclusively for outdoor use.
  • Fire Hazard: Do not light any fires under or near the parasol.
  • Sunshade Purpose: This parasol is primarily intended as a sunshade and not as protection against wind.

Maintenance Features:

  • Canopy Care:
    • Clean the umbrella canopy with a soft brush and mild detergent.
    • Do not machine wash or machine dry the canopy.
    • Do not iron the canopy.
    • Air-dry the canopy thoroughly in an open position before storing it for extended periods.
