Overview

The TAURUS C1 is a dental chair and unit designed for patient diagnosis and therapy. It comprises a main unit and various accessories. The dental chair provides a seating solution for patients during dental diagnosis, treatment, and operations. The dental unit integrates the patient chair, a dentist table with instrument holders, an assistant table, a water unit, an arm system, a cuspidor (spittoon), and a dental light. This system enables trained dentists and dental assistants to supply air, water, vacuum, and electrical power to dental devices and accessories, offering an intuitive control center for common patient treatment procedures in a dental operatory.

Usage Features:

The TAURUS C1 offers a range of features for efficient dental operations. It includes a main power switch that, when turned on, illuminates green to indicate readiness. The junction box connects water and air from the floor to the unit, with shut-off valves for supply control. The chair's movement is controlled by an authorized person, with a thermo-sensor to prevent overheating during continuous use. The maximum load for the chair is 150kgf.

An optional movable armrest can swivel 160 degrees for patient convenience. The headrest's height can be adjusted up to 110mm and its angle up to 40 degrees. An optional double links headrest allows for precise positioning. A safety switch in the backrest prevents accidents during chair movement, automatically stopping or reversing motion if contact is detected.

The dentist table features an instrument holder, 3-way syringe, air turbine handpiece, micromotor handpiece, scaler, table tray, and optional LCD screen, waste receptacle, and mouse tray. The instrument layout can be rearranged. The table arm's height is adjustable, with a knob to control tension based on instrument weight.

The assistant table includes a control panel, 3-way syringe, HVE, saliva ejector, and instrument holder. An emergency stop function is available by lifting the assistant table. The control panel allows for chair position control (programmed and manual), function and menu control, and an optional LCD screen. Programmed positions (Zero, AP1, AP2) can be set and recalled.

The operating light has a light control, tumbler water supply, spittoon bowl rinsing, fiber optic control (optional), HP water spray control (optional), and M/M rotation direction control (optional). An optional timer can be set for countdowns up to 59 minutes and 50 seconds. The operating light can be positioned for clear visibility, with focus adjustment from 600mm to 1,000mm. Light intensity can be adjusted in 2 or 3 steps (optional).

The foot controller allows for manual control of the chair's seat and backrest, as well as operating the light and instruments. The spittoon flushing and tumbler filler system automatically rinses the spittoon bowl and fills tumblers. Water volume for rinsing and filling can be adjusted. An optional water heater (warmer) supplies water at around 35°C. An optional distilled water tank system allows for the use of both tap water and distilled water. The spittoon bowl valve (optional) contains and transports drained liquid to an amalgam separator, preventing noise and odor. An optional CART-TYPE table provides mobility with casters and a brake system.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the TAURUS C1's longevity and safe operation.

  • Daily or As Often As Possible:

    • Sterilization: Scaler tips, handpieces, operating light handle covers, silicone pad and handle cover of dentist table, vacuum syringe tip and body, 3-way syringe nozzle and body, and saliva ejector tip and body should be sterilized using an autoclave at 134°C for 3 minutes. Refer to manufacturer's manuals for specific parameters.
    • Disinfection with Alcohol: Joints, axes, and switches should be disinfected with alcohol. Avoid excessive alcohol and prevent it from smearing into the unit. The operating light reflector should be cleaned with soft fabric soaked in alcohol after it cools down.
    • HVE and Saliva Ejector Tubes and Hoses: Clean after each patient to prevent odor and weakened suction. Use recommended chemical cleaning agents like Orotol plus.
    • Suction Filter: Clean at least once daily. Apply Vaseline to the rubber ring after cleaning for easier assembly.
    • Spittoon Bowl and Spittoon Trap: Clean daily. Disassemble the trap cap, trap, and bowl for cleaning with a sponge or soft fabric soaked in neutral detergent or disinfection alcohol. Ensure the outer surface of the bowl is dry when reassembled.
    • Vacuum System: Clean at least once daily using recommended cleaning detergents.
    • Water Lines: Clean daily, especially if the unit has been out of operation for a few days. Drain water from the warmer tank and lines first.
    • Tumbler Filler: Activate the tumbler filler by putting a cup, throwing away water, and refilling 8 times. Manual filling is also possible.
    • 3-WAY Syringe: Eject water into the spittoon bowl from both dentist and assistant holders.
    • Air Turbine and Micromotor: Disconnect handpieces from tubing, point tubing to the spittoon bowl, and press the foot controller pedal for at least 2 minutes.
    • Scaler: Point the scaler tip to the spittoon bowl and press the foot controller pedal for at least 3 minutes.
    • Other Parts and Surface: Wipe with a sponge or soft fabric soaked in neutral detergent, then dry completely. Disinfect with hospital-grade disinfectant. Avoid water, chemical solutions, and alcohol remaining on surfaces. Do not use abrasive materials on the spittoon bowl.
    • Seat, Backrest, and Headrest Surface: Clean frequently with a sponge or soft fabric soaked in neutral detergent, then dry completely. Avoid contact with dyed leathers, PVC, steel, plastic, woods, printed materials, chemicals, paints, pharmaceuticals, bonding materials, tape, bleaching agents, iron, or heaters.
  • Monthly:

    • Drain Trap Filter: Drain and clean at least monthly. Disassemble, wash with running water, and reassemble. Pour 2 cups of water into the spittoon bowl to rinse the line and check for leaks.
    • HP Lubrication Oil Particle Collection Bottle: Check the bottle at the bottom of the dentist table at least monthly. Disassemble, dispose of oil particles, clean the bottle and filter, and reassemble. Check air flow with handpieces.
  • Every 6 Months:

    • Water and Air Filter: Clean at least once every 6 months. Check pressure gauges (water below 0.17MPa, air below 0.39MPa) and handpiece air/water volume. For air filter replacement, contact a local distributor. Turn off water and air shut-off valves, deflate air and water, turn off main switch, remove junction box cover, take out water filter cap and filter, wash filter, reassemble, and check water pressure (0.18~0.2MPa) and for leaks. Calibrate pressure if necessary.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC):

The TAURUS C1 is designed for use in electromagnetic environments, requiring special precautions during installation and service. It is suitable for use in all establishments, including domestic ones. The device uses RF energy for internal functions, resulting in very low emissions. Mobile and high-frequency communication signals may affect its operation, so it's recommended to avoid using mobile phones in the vicinity and turn off the chair's main power if such devices are nearby. The manufacturer does not guarantee the safety of non-compliant electrical components.
