Emergency brake assist
The emergency brake assist system is
activated when the driver presses the brake
pedal quickly. It increases the effectiveness of
the brakes and reduces the vehicle’s stopping
distance.
Traction control system
When the vehicle starts off or accelerates on a
slippery road, the traction control system
(TCS) helps to maintain the driving force and
to prevent the drive wheels from spinning.
Anti-rollover system
When the vehicle turns a corner, the anti-
rollover system (ARS) determines whether
there is a risk of rollover by monitoring the
movement status of the vehicle. If any, RMI will
decelerate one or more wheels to refrain the
vehicle from a rollover accident.
Secondary collision mitigation
system
The secondary collision mitigation system
( SCM) will automatically apply the braking to
the vehicle after the first collision (airbag
activated) to reduce the vehicle speed or stop
the vehicle, thereby reducing the chance and
injury of a second collision.
HSA (Hill start Assist)
When the driver releases the brake pedal to
start driving while on a hill, the hill start assist
(HSA) maintains the braking force for about 2
seconds to keep the vehicle from rolling back.
⚠ Warning
If the gradient is steeper than 30%, the vehicle
may roll back when starting.
Therefore, do not rely too much on this
system. Be careful to drive safely.
Electronic power steering system
Electric power steering enhances driver safety
by monitoring the vehicle speed and adjusting
the power assist in real time to ensure that
steering feels light when driving at low speeds
and is stable at high speeds.
Electronic stability program
The electronic stability program (ESP) helps
reduce risk on slippery roads and, in certain
driving situations, improves driving stability by
braking individual wheels.
When the ESP is activated, the ESP indicator
light on the instrument panel flashes. At this
time, you need to drive carefully.
Notice
Generally, the ESP should always be on. Only in
the following special circumstances should you
turn off the system:
When driving with tire chains.
When driving in deep snow or on soft roads.
When the vehicle is stuck and needs to be
freed.
Once the above circumstances are no longer a
concern, you should immediately turn on ESP.
