  Steam escaping from the hay chest during steaming can be normal when the forage has almost finished steaming. However, if it's happening earlier, your hay chest might not be on level ground, causing it to twist as it heats up. Allow your Haygain hay steamer to cool down and move the hay chest to level ground. Also, ensure you always keep the lid on the hay chest when it cools down, as cooling without the lid can cause it to not fit properly.
