Regular self-check can assist your Healthcare
Professional to evaluate your blood pressure
trend.
Only your Healthcare Professional can interpret
your individual blood pressure readings.
A single measurement may not be sucient for
an accurate diagnosis. Many factors such as
physical activity, anxiety, or the time of day can
inuence your blood pressure. Thus it is best to
try and measure your blood pressure at the same
time each day to get an accurate indication of any
changes in blood pressure.
What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure is simply a measure of the
pressure of your blood in the arteries as your
heart is pumping it around your body. You may
have heard phrases like 118 over 78.
The rst gure (118) is called the systolic blood
pressure, while the second gure (78) is called the
diastolic blood pressure.
So what does that mean?
Systolic blood pressure
Systolic (siss-tol-ick) blood pressure is
a measure of the pressure as the heart pumps the
blood into the arteries when it beats.
The diastolic (die-a-stollic) pressure is the smaller
number. It is the pressure when the heart is at
rest, between beats.

Overview

The Heart Sure BP100 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor is a compact, fully automatic device designed for general household use to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. It operates on the oscillometric principle, providing simple and quick measurements.

Function Description:

The BP100 monitor measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate. It features a digital LCD display that shows these readings along with symbols for memory, low/depleted battery, heartbeat (flashing during measurement), and deflation. The device is intended for adult patients who can understand the instruction manual and whose arm circumference falls within the range printed on the arm cuff.

Usage Features:

  • Measurement Process: To take a measurement, the user first inserts the air plug securely into the air jack on the monitor. The arm cuff is then wrapped firmly around the left upper arm, with the bottom edge 1 to 2 cm above the elbow and the air tube aligned with the middle finger. The cuff is secured with the fabric fastener. For accurate readings, it's recommended to sit on a chair with legs uncrossed, feet flat on the floor, and back and arm supported, ensuring the arm cuff is at heart level.
  • Starting Measurement: Pressing the START/STOP button initiates the measurement. The arm cuff will inflate automatically, and the display will show the inflation process, followed by deflation and the final blood pressure and pulse rate readings.
  • High Systolic Pressure: If the systolic pressure is expected to be more than 210 mmHg, the user can press and hold the START/STOP button after the cuff starts to inflate to manually inflate the cuff 30 to 40 mmHg higher than their expected pressure. The monitor will not inflate above 299 mmHg.
  • Stopping Measurement: A measurement can be stopped at any time by pressing the START/STOP button, which will release the air from the cuff.
  • Memory Function: The monitor automatically stores the last measurement values (blood pressure and pulse rate). To view stored values, press and hold the START/STOP button for more than 5 seconds. The last measurement value will be displayed with a memory symbol. If no results are stored, the screen will indicate this.
  • Deleting Memory: To delete all stored values, press and hold the START/STOP button for more than 15 seconds.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The monitor automatically turns off after 2 minutes if no operation is performed.
  • Battery Operation: The device uses four "AA" alkaline or manganese batteries. It's crucial to insert them with correct polarity and replace all four batteries simultaneously when the low battery symbol appears. Batteries should be removed if the monitor won't be used for 3 months or more.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not adjust medication based on monitor results; consult a doctor.
    • Consult a doctor before use if you have common arrhythmias, arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, age, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, renal diseases, or have had a mastectomy.
    • Avoid using on injured arms, arms under medical treatment, or arms with an intravenous drip, blood transfusion, or arterio-venous (A-V) shunt.
    • Do not use simultaneously with other medical electrical equipment or in areas with HF surgical equipment, MRI, CT scanners, or oxygen-rich environments.
    • Ensure no mobile phones or other electrical devices emitting electromagnetic fields are within 30cm during measurement.
    • Avoid excessive cuff inflation, forcible bending or kinking of the air tube, strong shocks, or dropping the monitor.
    • Do not disassemble the monitor or arm cuff.
    • Do not use in moist locations or moving vehicles.
    • The air tube may cause accidental strangulation in infants, and small parts pose a choking hazard.
    • Stop use and consult a doctor if skin irritation or other troubles occur.
    • Wait 2-3 minutes between measurements to allow arteries to return to their prior condition.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Store the monitor and components in a clean, safe location. Clean the monitor and arm cuff with a soft, dry cloth or a soft, moistened cloth with neutral soap. Do not use abrasive or volatile cleaners, petrol, thinners, or similar solvents. Do not wash or immerse the monitor or components in water.
  • Storage: Unplug the air plug from the air jack and gently fold the air tube into the arm cuff without bending or creasing it excessively. Do not store the monitor if it or its components are wet, in locations exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, direct sunlight, dust, corrosive vapors (like bleach), or vibrations/shocks. If stored at extreme temperatures, allow approximately 2 hours for the monitor to reach 20°C before use.
  • Calibration and Service: The monitor is designed for a long service life, and its accuracy is carefully tested. It is generally recommended to have the device inspected every 2 years to ensure correct functioning and accuracy. Consult your local representative for service.
  • Warranty: The device is warranted against manufacturing defects for 2 years from the date of purchase. The cuff is warranted for one year against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is void if the product is modified, altered, misused, abused, damaged in transit, dropped, or repaired without authority.
  • Disposal: Dispose of the monitor, components, and batteries according to applicable local regulations to prevent environmental pollution.
