The Heatstore Dynamic Intelirad Aluminium Radiator is an electric heating appliance designed for wall mounting, offering advanced control and energy-saving features. It is suitable for a variety of environments, including bathrooms, provided it is not installed in the immediate vicinity of baths, showers, water connections, wash basins, or swimming pools. All models are splash-proof to IP24 standard.
Function Description:
The radiator provides heating through a precise quantity of special oil, utilizing aluminium fin technology to optimize heat distribution and reduce warm-up time. It features an adjustable electronic controller with a display screen and six touch buttons, allowing users to set desired temperatures and operating modes. The device incorporates several energy-saving technologies:
- Self-learning capacity: Continuously monitors the effect of its actions on room temperature to minimize energy usage while maximizing comfort.
- Aluminium fin technology: Optimizes heat distribution and reduces warm-up time.
- Open window technology (OW): Detects sudden temperature drops (e.g., from an open window or door) and enters standby mode to prevent energy waste, resuming normal operation once the window/door is closed. This feature is enabled by default.
- EcoStart (anticipatory control) (ES): Learns how quickly it can heat a room and turns on at the optimal time to reach the desired temperature by the scheduled "Comfort On" period. For example, if 21°C is set for 7 am, the heater will start before 7 am to achieve this target, adjusting run times based on external temperature. This feature is enabled by default.
Important Technical Specifications:
The radiator models include HSDI330, HSDI500, HSDI750, HSDI1000, HSDI1500, and HSDI2000, with nominal heat outputs ranging from 0.33 kW to 2.0 kW. The maximum continuous heat output matches the nominal output for each model. In standby mode, the auxiliary electricity consumption (elSB) is 0.0012 kW across all models. The heater is fitted with a flexible cable type H05VV-F (3 x 1.0mm²) for connection to fixed wiring. It features a highly accurate electronic thermostat with an accuracy of 0.2°C, controlling room temperature between a minimum of 7°C and a default maximum of 26°C (adjustable up to 32°C). The time clock has a battery backup to maintain settings during power outages.
Usage Features:
The device offers various operating modes and control functions:
- Display Screen: Shows current settings, temperature, and mode of operation. It will "sleep" and text will disappear after a period of inactivity, returning with any button press.
- Menu Button: Accesses main options: Date/Time, Mode, and Options.
- Back Button: Returns to the previous programming stage.
- Up and Down Arrows: Navigate menus, alter setting values, and adjust the required room temperature on the main screen. The screen color changes with temperature selection (Blue: 7-16°C, Green: 17-19°C, White: 20-21°C, Red: 22°C+).
- Enter Button: Confirms settings within menu options; on the main screen, it displays enabled features.
- Heating Status: Displays "Comfort On" during timed heating periods or the mode of operation (e.g., "Manual") for constant heat modes.
- Advance Button: Temporarily overrides heating settings. In timer modes, it can initiate the next "Comfort On" period early or turn off heating until the next "Comfort On" period. In constant modes, it switches the appliance on/off.
- Boost Mode: Accessed by pressing the Advance button twice, provides temporary heating for one, two, three, or four hours.
- Timer Modes: Four pre-programmed options:
- Out All Day: 6 hours heating per day in two periods (07:00-08:30, 17:30-22:00, Monday-Sunday). Customizable.
- Home All Day: 13 hours heating per day in one period (08:00-21:00, Monday-Sunday). Customizable.
- Holiday: Sets a reduced temperature (e.g., 7°C for frost protection) for a specified number of days (1 to 300) when away.
- User Timer: Four customizable time slots per day, adjustable for each day of the week.
- Constant Heat Modes:
- Manual Mode: Maintains a comfortable room temperature (default 21°C).
- Eco Mode: Maintains 18°C, indicated by a green display, for energy savings.
- Frost Protect Mode: Maintains 7°C, indicated by a blue display, to prevent frost.
- Standby Mode: Switches off heating; pressing any button resumes previous operation.
- Child Lock: Locks controls to prevent accidental changes. Activated/deactivated by pressing and holding Back and Enter for three seconds.
- Options Menu: Allows modification of user preferences:
- DST Rule: Selects daylight saving setting (British Summer Time or none).
- Auto Lock: Enables/disables automatic interface lock after one minute of inactivity. Unlocked by pressing and holding Back and Enter for two seconds.
- Sound: Enables/disables audio feedback.
- Service Info: Displays service information.
- Temp Units: Chooses between degrees Centigrade or Fahrenheit.
- User Information Menu (accessed by holding Enter for five seconds):
- SP Range: Adjusts the maximum temperature range.
- Open Window (OW): Enables/disables open window detection.
- Bluetooth: Enables/disables Bluetooth pairing (App software not available until 2017).
- EcoStart (ES): Enables/disables anticipatory control.
- Factory Reset: Returns all settings to factory presets.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Always disconnect from the power supply and allow the heater to cool before cleaning. Wipe the outside with a soft damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaning powders or furniture polish. The heater can be released from the wall bracket by depressing the latch on both brackets and hinging forward for cleaning or redecoration.
- Repairs: Repairs requiring opening of the oil container should only be made by the manufacturer or an approved service agent due to the precise quantity of special oil.
- Overheat Protection: Fitted with a thermal cut-out that automatically resets once the heater has cooled down. The display may flash red if overheating occurs; to reset, remove the obstruction and hold Enter for 10 seconds.
- Warranty: The product comes with a 3-year on-site warranty, 3-year electronics warranty, and a 10-year aluminium body warranty.
- Recycling: Electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste at the end of their useful life; users should recycle where facilities exist and check with local authorities or retailers for advice.
