Why does my Hegwein ZT0 Burner shut down during operation?
    • L
      Lynn BrownAug 9, 2025
If the Hegwein Burner experiences fault shutdowns during operation, it could be due to fluctuating combustion chamber or supply pressure levels, which results in flame blow-off. Check the pressure settings at the test nipples and, if necessary, provide a differential pressure regulation system for gas and air. Another cause could be that the pilot flame is highly subject to influence by the main flame or is suffocated; in this case, change the position of the gas fired igniter. You may need to use a more powerful gas fired igniter.

What to do if Hegwein ZT0 locks out at start?
    • T
      Travis CrawfordAug 25, 2025
If the Hegwein Burner locks out because a flame is signaled at the start before the gas valve has opened, it is possible that the flame was not extinguished when switching off due to a leaking valve, and is already present when restarting. In this case, replace the gas valve.

How to handle contaminated combustion air in Hegwein ZT0 Burner?
    • K
      Kristen RamosAug 29, 2025
If the combustion air is contaminated in the Hegwein Burner, use a filter or clean/replace the existing filter if necessary.

What to do if the Hegwein ZT0 flame goes on and off?
    • J
      Joshua PhillipsNov 3, 2025
If the Hegwein Burner flame comes on briefly but then trips after the ignition safety time, it could be due to several reasons. The flame rod may be burned out, deformed, or short-circuited, in which case you should exchange the flame rod and bend it back to its original position, also clean any scale/internal burner parts. Alternatively, the ceramic insulator of the flame rod might be broken, requiring replacement of the ceramic insulator or electrode support ring. If using a Hegwein control unit, ensure the bias voltage is always switched on, as the operating voltage must lag behind by at least 5 seconds. If using a control unit from a different manufacturer, switch off the ignition voltage approximately 0.5 seconds before the ignition safety time expires. Overheating of the gas fired ig...

Why won't the flame ignite on my Hegwein ZT0 Burner?
    • T
      tonyabrownNov 13, 2025
If the Hegwein Burner flame fails to form, several issues could be the cause. There may be no combustion air available due to a defective air flap or valve, which requires exchanging the air flap or valve. Alternatively, throttle organs might be closed, so open them. A blocked supply line could also restrict air flow, so unblock the line. Insufficient gas supply could be due to a supply line that is too long, requiring you to dimension the supply line accordingly or change the position of the gas fired igniter. If the gas supply line is still inert with N2, carry out several ignition attempts until the line has filled with gas. A defective gas valve could also be the problem, so exchange the gas valve. An incorrect gas to air ratio requires checking the settings of the gas and air operatin...

How to fix a Hegwein ZT0 when the spark does not form?
    • H
      howardnancyNov 18, 2025
If a spark does not form in the Hegwein Burner, it could be due to several reasons. The gas fired igniter may not be receiving any voltage, so check the wiring and control system. The ignition electrode could be burned out, requiring you to clean the inside of the gas fired igniter and replace the ignition electrode, bending it to its original position. If the electrode distance is too large or the electrode has short circuited, clean the inside of the gas fired igniter and bend the ignition electrode to a distance of 2 – 3 mm. A defective spark transformer will need to be exchanged. If there is a layer of scale on the spark electrode or earth rod/bolt, clean the inside of the gas fired igniter and remove the deposits using emery paper. Finally, a broken ceramic insulator will need to be e...
