Usage Features:

  • Versatile Application: Suitable for power tools (circular saws, drills, grinders, etc.), office equipment (computers, printers, scanners), household items (vacuum cleaners, fans, sewing machines), kitchen appliances (microwave ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers), industrial equipment (metal halide lamps), and home entertainment electronics (television, VCRs, stereos).
  • Front Panel Operation: Includes an ON/OFF switch and a "Function Key" to cycle through various status displays (VAC, Amp, Watts, etc.). Malfunctions are indicated by a flashing display.
  • AC Outlet Options: Available with Universal, Australia/New Zealand, United Kingdom, Continental European (SCHUKO), and North America (GFCI/Standard) outlet sockets.
  • Rear Panel Operation: Features battery terminals (+ is positive, - is negative; reverse polarity will damage the inverter), ventilation openings (requires at least 3 inches for airflow), and an RS-232C port for remote control or PC connection.
  • Alarm Relay: Provides voltage-free contacts (NO, COM, NC) for various alarm conditions, including normal operation, AC bypass supply unavailability, and inverter shutdown due to OTP, OVP, UVP, OLP, or short load.
  • Installation Guidelines:
    • Location: Must be dry, cool (-20°C to 50°C), safe (not in battery compartments or areas with flammable fumes), well-ventilated (at least one inch clearance), and dust-free.
    • Proximity to Batteries: Should be close to batteries to minimize cable length but not in the same compartment to avoid corrosive gases.
    • Grounding: Connect chassis ground terminal to earth or vehicle chassis using #8 AWG wire. Operating without proper grounding can result in electrical safety hazards.
    • DC Wiring: Use appropriate gauge cables (recommended sizes provided in the manual) and keep them as short as possible (ideally 3-6 feet) to prevent voltage drop and ensure optimal performance. A fuse must be installed on the positive cable.
    • AC Safety Grounding: AC input and output ground wires must be connected to the incoming ground from the AC utility source and the grounding point for loads, respectively. 120V models automatically connect the neutral conductor to safety ground during inverter operation, while 230V models do not.
  • Inverter Operation: Turn on the ON/OFF switch on the front panel. If operating multiple loads, turn them on separately after the inverter is on to avoid high starting currents.
  • Status Indicators: LED displays show output voltage (VAC), output current (AMP), output watts (WATT), input DC voltage (VDC), internal operating temperature (TEMP), and output frequency (Hz).
  • Protection Indicators:
    • OVP (Over Voltage Protection): Inverter shuts down due to input voltage exceeding 12V/24V/48VDC.
    • UVP (Under Voltage Protection): Inverter shuts down due to input voltage falling below 12V/24V/48VDC.
    • OTP (Over Temperature Protection): Inverter shuts down due to overheating (e.g., operating above rating or obstructed ventilation). It automatically restarts once cooled.
    • OLP (Overload Protection): Inverter shuts down due to output voltage exceeding continuous power. Requires manual reset.
  • Cooling Fan Operation: The fan starts when output power exceeds 300W to cool the unit. If the ventilation is obstructed, the inverter enters OTP mode, and the fan continues to run until the temperature returns to normal, then the inverter automatically restarts.
  • Dip Switch Settings: Located on the left side of the inverter, these switches control frequency (S1: 60Hz ON, 50Hz OFF), Baud Rate (S2/S3: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200), and power saving mode (S4: Disable ON, Enable OFF). Inverter reset is required after changing settings.
  • Tune VR: Adjusts the VAC output voltage from 100-120 VAC or 200-240 VAC. Turning the VR from right to left gradually increases the VAC value.

Maintenance Features:

  • Low Maintenance: Requires very little maintenance for proper operation.
  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit with a dry cloth to prevent dust and dirt accumulation.
  • Terminal Tightening: Periodically tighten the screws on the DC input terminals.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a guide for common problems like low output voltage, OLP flash, no output voltage, over temp, and television interference, along with possible causes and solutions.
  • Safety Warning: Do not open or disassemble the inverter, as it may result in electrical shock or fire.
  • Battery Precautions: Emphasizes safety when working with batteries, including washing skin/clothing if acid contact occurs, immediate medical attention if acid enters eyes, never smoking or allowing sparks/flames near batteries, avoiding dropping metal tools on batteries, and removing personal metal items to prevent short-circuits and burns.
