Do you have a question about the HELLER HEBDF and is the answer not in the manual?
The Heller Electric Blankets are designed for domestic use to provide warmth and comfort. They are under-blankets, meaning they are placed on the mattress beneath the user, and are not recommended for use as a top blanket or on futons. The blankets are available in several sizes to suit different mattress dimensions:
Before operating, users must read, understand, and follow all instructions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury. The blanket should always be operated from a power source of the same voltage, frequency, and rating as indicated on the product identification plate. It is crucial to ensure the blanket is spread flat and not folded, rucked, or tucked in during use to prevent overheating. Pins should not be used as they can damage the electric wiring. The control unit should be kept away from open windows and heavy objects should not be placed on the bed when the blanket is switched on.
This appliance is not intended for use by infants, infirm persons, or anyone insensitive to heat or unable to react to overheating. Children under the age of three should not use the appliance unless controls are preset by a parent/guardian or they are adequately instructed. Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children or invalids.
The blanket is not recommended for use on adjustable beds; if used, ensure the blanket or cord cannot be caught or rucked. It is essential to match the blanket size to the mattress size (e.g., Queen size blanket on a Queen size mattress). The heating area (element) must not hang over the edge of the mattress.
The electric blanket is designed to be fitted securely to the mattress. The bed controller connection/s should be positioned at the head end of the bed. Side skirts are fitted around the edges of the mattress, with an elastic skirt to ensure a snug, crease-free fit. The blanket must be firmly secured to the mattress and laid flat from shoulder to feet. If a mattress protector is used, it should go over the electric blanket.
The controller features a slide knob for heat temperature selection and a power indicator. There are three heat levels:
To switch off the control, slide the knob to the bottom (power indicator off). For preheating, set the blanket to the highest tap '3' position for 30-60 minutes before use. For sleeping or prolonged use, set it to the lowest '1' tap position to avoid overheating and discomfort. The indicator light will illuminate when switched on (levels 1, 2, or 3).
Connect the controller to the socket attached to the blanket, ensuring it is fully connected. The mains supply should be nearby, and the mains lead positioned to prevent tripping hazards. The controller must be within easy reach of the user. The power plug must be inserted directly into a wall power socket, not a power board, double adaptor, or similar. Controllers should not be covered or placed near external heat sources.
Regular cleaning is required for trouble-free operation.
The blanket should be examined frequently for signs of wear or damage (blanket, controller, or flexible cord). If wear is visible, return the blanket to the manufacturer or supplier for inspection and overhaul by a qualified and registered person. It is recommended that the electric blanket be inspected by a qualified and registered person after 3 years of use. Do not attempt to repair the blanket or damaged mains lead/controller yourself.
