Before using the HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket, it is crucial to consult a doctor, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions such as skin diseases, heart conditions, broken bones, malignancy, osteoporosis, abnormal blood pressure, anhidrosis, cancer, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have metal implants, or mental illness. The blanket should only be used on a flat, heat-resistant surface, such as a massage table or yoga mat, and never on a waterbed, bunk bed, latex, or memory foam bed, or a mechanically adjustable bed. It is also important to ensure the surface is not made of synthetic, latex, or flammable materials if using it on a bed, couch, or rug.
To begin a session, users should wear comfortable, loose-fitting cotton clothing that covers the entire body, including long sleeves, long pants, and socks of medium material thickness. A towel should be placed inside the blanket underneath the body for additional cushioning and comfort, particularly when using higher heat settings. Metal jewelry or other metal products should be removed before use.
The setup involves connecting the controller plug to a standard electrical outlet and the other end of the controller into the receiving port at the foot of the blanket, ensuring both connections are firmly secured. Once connected, the power switch on the controller can be pressed to activate the device. The blanket requires approximately 10 minutes to preheat. Users can select their desired temperature by turning the dial clockwise to increase heat or counter-clockwise to decrease it. There are nine temperature settings, with level 9 being the hottest. It is recommended to start at a lower level (4, 5, or 6) and gradually increase to higher levels (7 or 8) as the body adjusts. Level 9 should only be used if sweating cannot be achieved at lower levels, and extreme caution should be exercised due to the intense heat. If any area of the body feels too warm, the temperature setting should be reduced immediately. The power button on the controller can be pressed at any time to stop the session.
Session duration should ideally be no more than 45-50 minutes after the 10-minute preheat. The blanket will automatically power off after 60 minutes. After each session, the blanket should be unplugged from the wall. It is important not to fold the blanket while it is still hot or warm to the touch, as this could damage the material and void the warranty. The blanket should be left open to cool completely before cleaning and storage.
The HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket is designed to be waterproof, but regular cleaning between uses is recommended to maintain its condition, similar to a yoga mat. For cleaning, a soft cloth or towel should be used to absorb any sweat left behind. A non-toxic gentle soap or non-toxic cleaning wipe can be used for general cleaning. A suggested cleaning solution is a mixture of ¾ parts water and ¼ part apple cider vinegar with a few drops of tea tree oil in a spray bottle, which can then be wiped clean. Strong corrosive cleaners or alcohol should not be used to clean the sauna blanket, as these can damage the material.
For storage, it is essential to ensure the sauna blanket has cooled down completely after use. Once cool, it should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place, preferably in its original packaging. The cord should be looped loosely around the controller when storing to prevent damage. Items should not be placed on top of the blanket during storage. It is also crucial not to submerge the sauna blanket in water, place it in a washing machine, or dry clean it. The blanket should not be stored near flammable or chemical objects or materials. Additionally, no objects, especially electronics, should be placed on top of or inside the sauna blanket while it is powered on.
The controller itself is not waterproof and should be kept away from water or other liquids, as well as drafty areas that may become damp or wet, such as an open window. Before each use, the heated product, cord, and controller should be examined for any signs of wear or damage. If any improper operation, wear, or damage is observed, discontinue use immediately, unplug the device, and contact HigherDOSE Customer Care. Attempting to repair the HigherDOSE product, controller, or any other aspect of the device is dangerous and may cause damage not covered by the warranty; only HigherDOSE should perform service on the product.
