This quick guide will equip you with the essential information to operate and sell a HighGear Axis, Summit or AltiTech 2. It
includes quick tips and a question and answer section.
Axis/Summit/AltiTech2 Key Features include:
Time, Compass, Barometer, Altimeter, Chronograph, and Alarm
Setting Time & Date
Press
set/light
button until “ADJUST HOLD” flashes, “HOUR” will display and digits begin to flash.
Use
start/lap
button (+) and
stop
button (-) to adjust to desired setting.
Mode
button will scroll to minute, second, year, month, day, & 24 hour or 12 hour setting.
Press
set/light
button to lock in information.
To toggle between Time 1 (T1) and Time 2 (T2), press
stop
button. Hold
stop
button for 2 seconds to set either time for display.
Calibrating the Compass
THIS COMPASS HAS TO BE CALIBRATED THE FIRST TIME YOU USE IT.
Press
set/light
button until “CAL HOLD” flashes. When “CAL” appears, rotate the unit clockwise while holding it level for 3 full
rotations, each rotation lasting 10-15 seconds.
Press
set/light
button and the declination setting screen will appear.
Use
start/lap
button (+) and
stop
button (-) to adjust digits.
Use
mode
button to scroll between digits and cardinal direction.
Press
set/light
button to end calibration.
Setting Barometric Pressure
Press
set/light
button, “ADJUST HOLD” will flash, “SET CURRENT WEATHER” will scroll at top of display and icons begin flashing.
Use
start/lap
and
stop
buttons to choose desired icon, then press
mode
button to advance to sea level barometric pressure.
Once digits start flashing for sea level pressure, use
start/lap
button (+) and
stop
button (-) to adjust digits. When the desired
number is displayed, press
set light
button to lock in information.

Setting Altitude
Press s
et/light
button until “CAL HOLD” appears and digits begin to flash.
Use
start/lap
button (+) and
stop
button (-) to adjust digits.
Press
mode
button to access MAX and ACCUMULATED altitudes. Press
stop
button to zero out the max and accumulated altitude.
Once main altitude displays, the scrolling max and accumulated altitude is set press
set/light
button to exit.
To add a reading to your log book, press
start/lap
button and hold until “STORED DATA” stops flashing.
Set altitude either in feet (FT) or meters (M): press
stop
button and hold until the desired setting stops flashing.
