Overview

This document is a user manual for a Hisense cooker hood, model CH6T4BXUK. It provides instructions for installation, use, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The cooker hood is designed for the suction of cooking fumes and steam, intended for domestic use. It can be configured for either exhausting (ducting) or filtering (recirculation) operation.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Minimum Distance from Cooking Equipment:
    • Electric cookers: Not less than 50cm.
    • Gas or mixed cookers: Not less than 65cm. If the gas hob instructions specify a greater distance, that must be adhered to.
  • Electrical Connection:
    • Mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate inside the hood.
    • Voltage: 220-240V ~50-60Hz (as indicated in diagram 12).
    • If supplied with a plug, connect to an accessible socket.
    • If direct mains connection or if the plug is not accessible, a double pole switch compliant with standards for complete disconnection under over-current category III must be used.
  • Ducting Version:
    • Fumes are conveyed outside the building via a special pipe connected to the hood's connection ring.
    • The exhausting pipe is not supplied and must be purchased separately.
    • The diameter of the exhausting pipe must be equal to that of the connection ring (e.g., Ø16 cm as shown in diagram 10).
    • Horizontal runs of the pipe should be slightly slanted (approx. 10°) and directed upwards.
    • Using smaller diameter tubes or discharge holes will diminish suction performance and drastically increase noise.
    • Ducting should be of minimum indispensable length, with as few elbows as possible (max 90° angle), avoiding drastic changes in cross-section, and as smooth as possible inside.
    • Duct material must be certified.
  • Filter Version:
    • Requires one active charcoal filter, which can be obtained from a retailer.
    • The filter removes grease and smells from extracted air before returning it to the room through the upper outlet grid.
  • Lighting System:
    • Equipped with LED technology, offering optimum lighting, up to 10 times longer duration than traditional lamps, and 90% electrical energy savings.

Usage Features

  • Operation Modes:
    • OFF motor: Pressing the '0' button turns the hood OFF.
    • ON motor: Pressing the '+' button from OFF state activates speed 1.
    • Speed Increase: Repeatedly pressing the '+' button (when the hood is ON) increases motor speed from speed 1 to intensive (Speed 1, Speed 2, Speed 3).
    • ON / OFF light: The light button controls the hood's illumination.
  • Recommended Use:
    • Switch ON the hood at minimum speed 5 minutes prior to cooking.
    • Keep it running during cooking and for approximately 15 minutes after cooking is finished.
    • Use high suction speed for concentrated kitchen vapours.
    • Increase speed only for large amounts of smoke and vapour.
    • To reduce environmental impact, switch ON at minimum speed when starting to cook and keep it running for a few minutes after cooking is finished.

Maintenance Features

  • General Cleaning:
    • The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly (at least once a month), both internally and externally.
    • Use a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent.
    • DO NOT USE ABRASIVE PRODUCTS OR ALCOHOL!
    • Failure to follow cleaning recommendations and filter replacement instructions can lead to fire risks.
  • Grease Filter:
    • Traps cooking grease particles.
    • Must be cleaned once a month using non-aggressive detergents.
    • Can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher (set to low temperature and short cycle).
    • Discoloration may occur in a dishwasher but does not affect filtering capacity.
    • To remove, press and pull it down (as shown in diagrams 19 and 20).
  • Charcoal Filter (Filter Version Only):
    • Absorbs unpleasant odours.
    • Saturation depends on cooking type and grease filter cleaning regularity.
    • Must be replaced at least every four months.
    • CANNOT BE WASHED OR REGENERATED.
  • Replacing Lamps:
    • The hood uses LED lamps.
    • For replacement, contact technical service.
  • Safety Precautions for Maintenance:
    • Before any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the electrical supply.
    • Always wear work gloves during installation and maintenance.
