  • Location: Advised to select an area where direct sunlight or bright indoor illumination will not fall on the screen. Ensure free airflow around the perforated back cover. Avoid places where the temperature becomes too hot (e.g., direct sunlight, near heating devices).
  • Viewing: Optimal viewing distance is typically three to six feet or more, depending on screen size.

Safety Warnings:

  • Electric Shock: "CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN." No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Fire/Shock Hazard: Do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture. Do not remove the back cover. Unplug if the set does not operate properly.
  • Power Cord: Connect only to AC 120V 60Hz. Do not connect to 50Hz or DIRECT CURRENT. Ensure the polarized plug is fully inserted into the receptacle. If damaged or frayed, unplug and refer to qualified personnel. Do not overload receptacles or extension cords.
  • Unused Periods: Remove the plug from the wall outlet if the TV will be unused for a long period (e.g., vacation).

Troubleshooting: A comprehensive troubleshooting guide is provided for common reception problems and general symptoms, including:

  • Reception Problems (external to the TV):
    • Ignition Noise: Black spots, horizontal streaks, picture flutter/drift. Caused by automobile ignition, neon lamps, electrical drills.
    • Ghosts: Caused by reflected TV signals. Can be improved by adjusting antenna direction or position.
    • Snow: Small dots due to weak signals in fringe areas. May require a special antenna.
    • Radio Frequency Interference: Moving ripples, diagonal streaks, loss of contrast.
  • General Symptoms (Checklist):
    • No picture, no sound
    • Sound OK, poor picture
    • Picture OK, poor sound
    • Picture blurred
    • Lines or streaks in picture
    • Poor reception on some channels
    • Picture rolls vertically

    • Poor color The checklist guides users to verify external connections, power, channel selection, antenna connections, and adjust various controls (Contrast, Brightness, Color, Tint, Volume, Indoor Antenna).

Caution for TV Games/Computers: When using TV games, computers, and similar products, keep "CONTRAST" and "BRIGHTNESS" functions at low settings.
