Tuning
a
How
to
use
“MPX
NOISE
FIL”
switch
When
broadcasting
waves
are
particularly
.weak
and
also
accompanied
with
‘‘noise’’,
the
MPX
Noise
Filter
switch
damps
the
noise
level
by
blend-
ing
the
high
frequency
range
of
the
incoming
left
and
right
channel
stereo
signals,
thus
cancelling
out
any
negative
phase
noise.
The
result
is
significantly
better
in
signal-to-noise
ratio.
Antenna
Connection
When
the
FM
feeder
antenna
provided
is
used
This
FM
feeder
antenna
is
sufficient
to
receive
broadcasts
in
an
area
near
to
the
broadcasting
station
where
the
radio
waves
are
strong.
Connect
the
FM
feeder
antenna
provided
to
the
antenna
terminal,
and
with
the
antenna
extended
in
a
T-
shape,
install
it
in
the
most
sensitive
position
(where
reception
is
best).

Outdoor
FM
antenna
When
using
this
tuner
far
from
the
broadcasting
station
or
behind
a
ferroconcrete
building
where
the
radio
field
strength
is
low,
install
an
outdoor
FM
antenna.
Then
height
and
direction
of
the
outdoor
antenna
should
be
adjusted
for
the
opti-
mum
reception.

When
the
distance
between
the
antenna
and
this
tuner
is
over
30
meters
(around
100
feet),
or
in
areas
subject
to
heavy
traffic
or
close
to
a
high-
tension
power
line,
noise
may
disturb
listening
even
when
the
FM
exclusive
antenna
is
used.
In
this
case,
use
a
75-ohm
coaxial
cable
for
the
feeder
line.
However,
since
this
coaxiable
cable
is
a
‘“75-
ohm
unbalanced’’
type,
install
a
matching
trans-
former
between
the
antenna
and
the
coaxial
cable
to
prevent
wave
loss.
When
this
conversion
transformer
is
incorporated
in
the
antenna,
a
normal
75-ohm
coaxial
cable
can
be
used.

antenna
will
give
optimum
reception.
