Reception

Detach

the

AM

loop

from

the

set

and

locate

the

position

which

provides

the

clearest

reception.

Reception

will

be

better

than

when

the

antenna

is

kept

mounted

on

the

set.

(For

instance,

it

can

be

used

by

at-

taching

to

a

wall

or

to

the

back

of

the

audio

rack.)

When

tuning

in

stations

with

the

AM

loop

antenna}

mounted

on

the

model,

move

the

antenna

and

locate

the

position

that

offers

the

clearest

reception.

In

ferro-concrete

structures

reception

may

sometimes

not

be

clear

even

if

the

AM

loop

antenna

is

detached

from

the

model.

In

cases

like

this,

obtain

an

extension

cord

(refer

to

the

figure

below),

extend

the

cord

and

place

the

AM

loop

antenna

outside

on

a

window,

for

instance,

so

that

reception

is

clear.

Connect

the

extension

cord

to

the

AM

loop

anntenna’s

lead

wire.

Be

careful

not

to

short

the

lead

wires

when

connecting.

outdoor

antenna.

vinyl

wire

to

the

AM

ANTENNA

minal

on

the

rear

of

this

set,

and

install

the

antenna

a

short

distance

from

the

building.

Do

not

disconnect

the

AM

loop

antenna.

Fix

the

antenna

where

the

best

radio

reception

can

be

obtained.

NOTE:

For

maximum

effect,

extend

the

antenna

as

close

to

a

window

as

possible.

Extending

the

antenna

outdoors

increases

the

effect

even

further.

Avoid

extension

near

a

TV

set,

fluorescent

light

or

other

electrical

appliance

since

this

will

increase

the

amount

of

noise.
