What to do if my Hobart 90 C 20 Inverter engine will not start and the starter will NOT crank the engine?

  First, check all battery terminals to ensure they are properly connected. Verify that 13.5 volts DC is reaching the solenoid input terminal. If the issue persists, momentarily connect a large jumper between the hot side of the starter solenoid and the starter input terminal. If the starter then attempts to crank the engine, the starter solenoid is likely defective and needs replacement. If the starter still doesn't operate, the starter itself may be defective and should be replaced. Finally, if all starting components are functional but the engine still won't crank, it could indicate an internal seizure.

  If your Hobart Inverter engine won't start but the cranking speed is normal, the issue might be fuel-related. Start by priming the fuel filters by removing the pipe plug in the cover of each filter and filling them with fuel oil. If the engine still doesn't start, it could indicate a mechanical pump issue. If it starts and then stops, check for problems between the fuel source and the suction side of the pump. Also, ensure there's enough fuel in the tank and the fuel shut-off valve is open. Check for loose connections or damaged hoses, and inspect the fuel filter for clogs or defects. A faulty installation from the return line, a faulty fuel pump, a relief valve that is not seating, worn pump gears, or defects in the injectors, racks, or linkage could also be the cause.
