7.1 Before use
1. Take out the device from the packaging, remove the foil from the device and its
components.
2. Extend the power cord. Place the device on a dry, at, stable and heat-resistant
surface.
3. Clean all the device parts in accordance with p. 8. Cleaning and care.
7.2 App installation
1. Prior to the rst use, download the Hoffen Smart Chef Express app from the
Play store (Android) or Apple store (iOS), or scan the QR code on the packaging.
2. Next, install the app on your phone. The app is suitable for Android (6.0 and
higher) and iOS (version 8.0 and higher) system.
3. Once downloaded, open the app.
4. The same display as on the device will be shown on the phone screen.
Caution! Hold your phone horizontally when using the app.
7.3 Connecting with the Wi-Fi network
Caution! The device can also be operated without an Internet connection. The
Wi-Fi connection with the app can be used for:
- checking the current condition of the cooked dish, e.g. when you are at home,
but in a different room, and you do not want to go to the device every now and
again to check the remaining cooking time or what the next step is.
- using one of the three options which are only available in the app:
a) shopping list – the device allows to create one shopping list for several recipes,
totalling the ingredient amount. For example, if one recipe includes 2 lemons,
another includes 1 lemon, and yet another includes 3 lemons, the app will sum
them up. The shopping list will include 6 lemons.
b) calendar – the device allows to enter a dish preparation reminder in the calendar,
e.g. for a meeting with friends.
c) prepare the recipe – you may enter and save your own recipes.
Caution! In Android devices, when connecting with the device, the following
(or similar) message may appear:
“WiFi connected but no Internet access. Switch to another network?”
Select: Cancel.
To connect to Wi-Fi, perform the following steps:
1. Install the app on your phone, see p. 7.2 App installation.
2. Open the Wi-Fi options on your phone.
