Before entering the vehicle
1. Check that the windows, mirrors and lights are clean.
2. Visually check tyre ination.
Note check the tyre pressures each week.
Before driving off
1. Ensure that all doors are closed and secured.
2. Position your seat for comfortable driving.
3. Adjust rear view mirrors.
4. Fasten seatbelts.
5. Check that the warning indicators light up when you turn the key to start the engine.
Refer to Warning/reminder indications in chapter 1A.
Automatic only: Have the ignition on and depress the brake pedal before moving
the T-bar away from the P position.
Parking
1. Apply the park brake.
2. Manual transmission

: Place in reverse or rst gear.
Automatic transmission

: Place in P (park) position.
3. Shut all windows.
4. Switch off all exterior lights.
5. Turn the ignition key to OFF and remove the key.
6. Lock all doors.
WARNING
To avoid the possibility of injury, always fully apply the park brake before exiting
the vehicle.
With the ignition switch in the ON position, check if the 4WD indicator
light <, the 4L indicator light, and the CHECK 4WD indicator light are either on or off
(not blinking). If one or more of the indicator lights are blinking, the vehicle may roll
down a steep incline. If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission,
ensure the shift lever is fully engaged in the P (park) position.
Be careful where you park or drive. As with any vehicle, do not park or operate
this vehicle in areas where combustible materials such as dry grass or leaves can
come in contact with the hot exhaust system.
Never leave the engine running in an area such as a closed garage or underground
car park.
