SECURITY
Immobiliser
To provide additional security, the vehicle is tted with an immobiliser. It prevents
unauthorised engine starting.
The correctly programmed ignition key will be recognised by the vehicle when the key
is inserted into the ignition switch, allowing the engine to be started.
The immobiliser system is deactivated when the key is turned to the START position.
Removing the key from the ignition automatically activates the immobiliser system.
Note Any additional or replacement keys must be purchased from and programmed
by your Holden Dealer.
If the immobiliser system has developed a fault or an incorrectly programmed key is
used to attempt to start the vehicle, the check engine Z indicator light will begin to
ash and the engine will not start. Return the ignition switch to the ACC position and
after 10 seconds, turn to the ON position again. If the indicator continues to ash,
contact your Holden Dealer.
If the check engine Z indicator light is illuminated after starting the engine, refer to
Warning/reminder indications in chapter 1A.
Note
The immobiliser system does not lock the doors. The doors need to be locked
when leaving the vehicle.
Avoid attaching any items to the ignition key which may interfere with the
immobiliser signal.
Avoid placing another immobiliser key on the same key ring.
Avoid having keys from other vehicles attached to the ignition key.
Do not break the key.
Do not dip the key into water or any other liquid.
Do not place the key anywhere where it may be exposed to high temperatures.
Do not attempt to start the vehicle with a non-approved key.
Replacement keys can only be programmed by your Holden Dealer.
If the vehicle’s key is lost, inform your Holden Dealer immediately.
